  • Patent number: 6510663
Abstract: An in-fill panel arrangement is designed for post and beam furniture systems of the type having overhead beams supported on vertical posts. Each of the beams has a lowermost face with a horizontal slot extending therealong, and each of the posts includes outwardly extending flanges having an end face with a slot extending vertically therealong. Beam-to-post connectors are attached to the opposite ends of the beams, and are detachably retained in the slots in the posts to mount the beams on the posts. Rigid in-fill panels are shaped to be positioned directly below the beams and above the floor to partition the space into individual work areas. Panel mounting brackets are detachably retained in the slots in the posts and the beams, and are connected with the in-fill panels.

  • Patent number: 6208239
Abstract: In a procedure for the provision of access authorization for an engine-driven vehicle, if there is an operator request for the provision of access authorization to an engine-driven vehicle, a bidirectional signal transmission using encoded transmission signals and an electronic key will be effected. From transmission units located on or in the vehicle, vehicle signals will be transmitted to the electronic key, and, from the electronic key, key signals will be returned as echo signals to the respective transmission units. The time difference between the vehicle signal and the key signals will be determined and evaluated. The position of the electronic key in relation to the vehicle will be determined by means of successive bidirectional signal transmissions between at least two transmission units and the electronic key as well as by evaluating the time differences; having determined the actual key position, a decision on access authorization to the vehicle will be made.

  • Patent number: 5483639
Abstract: A device for monitoring balanced two-wire bus lines and two-wire but interfaces has first, second and third comparison circuits for comparing the wire potentials with one another and with a fixed reference voltage, and two shift registers or counters as well as at least one pulse generator for deriving reset pulses from each change in sign of the potential comparison of the two bus conductors with one another. The shift registers or counters are respectively reset by the reset pulses. Result signals produced from the comparison of the bus potentials with a fixed reference voltage can be fed to the shift registers or counters for the purpose of shifting or incrementing said registers or counters respectively. The register length or number of counter stages can be selected as a function of a desired bit error tolerance depth. The device can be extended by a self-resetting system after temporary bus disturbances.

  • Patent number: 5445694
Abstract: An electrically heated composite glass sheet including heating element wires deposited and fixed in place on the thermoplastic film connecting the individual glass sheets together so as to extend from the one film edge as far as the opposite film edge. The heating wires are connected in parallel with buses, which are arranged at a predetermined distance from the edge of the film. Directly adjacent to the buses, the sections of the wires which are arranged between the buses and the edge of the film are severed by moving two electrodes, which are connected with a power supply, into contact with the wires. The electric current heats the wires between the electrodes to their fusion temperature and thereby severs the wires.

  • Patent number: 5252389
Abstract: A biaxially stretched polypropylene monofilm, wherein the surfaces of the two sides of the polypropylene monofilm have different roughnesses R.sub.Z, is employed as an insulation film for the production of capacitors. The smoother of the two surfaces of the polypropylene monofilm is substantially free from fibrils and pits, so that no flaws occur in a metal layer applied on metallization of this surface.

  • Patent number: 4856037
Abstract: An arrangement or apparatus for exposing semiconductor wafers by means of a synchrotron radiation, wherein a mask and semiconductor wafer are movable in a common, perpendicular direction relative to the direction of the X-ray beam in order to sweep an exposure field. The optical devices are provided for observing adjustment marks on the mask and semiconductor wafer to create control signals for the adjustment of the mask and wafer relative to each other. The beam radiation is conducted in a tube having a rectangular slot-shaped radiation window, which is arranged immediately adjacent to the mask and the optical devices are provided next to the beam feed tube and aligned to a part of the exposure fields lying outside of the impingement area of the beam leaving the radiation window.
