  • Patent number: 6354273
Abstract: A fuel delivery rail assembly for supplying fuel to a plurality of fuel injectors in an engine is provided. The assembly comprises an elongate conduit having a longitudinal fuel passage therein, a fuel inlet pipe, and a plurality of sockets. Outer walls of the conduit include at least one flat or arcuate flexible first absorbing surface, which is smoothly and integrally connected to an arcuate second absorbing surface. The first absorbing surface or the second absorbing surface faces fuel inlet ports of the sockets. The sectional configuration of the conduit can be flat, a telephone receiver shape, a character “T” shape, a corrugation shape, a dumbbell shape or a reverse eye mask shape. Thus, fuel pressure pulsations and shock waves are reduced by abrupt enlargements of fuel passages and bendings of the absorbing surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6177660
Abstract: An auxiliary heater is provided for heating a fluid flowing through a pipe. The heater includes a conductor mounted in proximity to the pipe. A magnet is opposed to the conductor with a small gap therebetween. Relative rotation is generated between the conductor and the magnet. The rotation causes the conductor to be heater by slip heat generation. The heated conductor, in turn, heats the fluid in the pipe.

  • Patent number: 6128966
Abstract: An inspection equipment is provided by which the endodontic file is examined and judged as to if it reaches to its critical strength. When an appropriately selected endodontic file out of the endodontic files 11, 12, 13 in the kit case 1 is set at the file sample holding portion 5 in the kit case 1 and data corresponding to the endodontic file is input from the data input portion 22, the electric resistance value on the file portion of the endodontic file measured by the resistance measuring portion 20 and the resistance value on the critical strength with correspondence to the data on the file read-out from the RAM 23 are brought together and compared by the inspection unit 30. If the calculating judgement portion 25 makes a judgement to the file to reach its critical level of strength in the cumulative damage, the alarm 19 issues an alarm sound, so that an endodontist or dental assistant knows that the file is not usable any more and should be discarded.

  • Patent number: 6126208
Abstract: A common rail includes a generally cylindrical peripheral wall having a communication passage extending axially therethrough. At least one branch hole extends through the peripheral wall and is aligned perpendicular to the axis of the common rail. The intersection of the branch hole with the outer surface of the main pipe rail defines an outwardly flared pressure receiving seat for receiving the connection head portion of a branch pipe. A sleeve nipple is welded or brazed to the outer surface of the main pipe rail and surrounds the branch hole. Inner surface regions of the peripheral wall surrounding the branch hole have a compression residual stress imparted thereto. The creation of the compression residual stress may cause a portion of the inner surface of the main pipe rail surrounding the branch hole to assume a non-cylindrical configuration.

  • Patent number: 6098441
Abstract: A method for forming a through-hole through the circumferential wall of a metal pipe includes the steps of forming at least a thin portion by removing an outside circumferential surface portion of a metal pipe, and forming a through-hole in the thin portion from outside or inside and, at the same time, forming a cylindrical burring wall on the inside or outside circumferential surface side of the metal pipe. The through-hole may be formed by pressing the thin portion from outside with a punch. • Patent number: 5915472
Abstract: A lightweight apparatus designed to cool the EGR gas of an engine efficiently by replacing baffle plates with one or more support plates having a plurality of through holes, which is further made up of a barrel, end caps, a tube sheet, and a plurality of heat transmission tubes. An inlet and an outlet of the EGR gas are provided on the end caps covering both ends of the barrel and the sheet metal-made tube sheet attached to both ends of an inner wall of the barrel holds the properly arranged heat transmission tubes inserted into the through holes. Each metal sheet-made support plate affixed to a number of spots on the inner wall of the barrel has a diameter a little larger than the inside diameter of the barrel so that its edge is bent inward to fit inside the barrel tight but slidably in the form of tongue-like pieces. In a similar way, a peripheral edge of each through hole is curled up to create another set of tongue-like pieces to fit tight but slidably outside the heat transmission tubes.

  • Patent number: 5557962
Abstract: In producing a long extruded metal article of miscellaneous shapes, no post-working such as cutting is applied to the shaped long metal billet but extrusion of the metal billet and formation of miscellaneous shapes of the extruded article are effected both at a time for efficient production of the article. Since the metal flow of the extruded article is not cut, the extruded article has improved mechanical strength, especially fatigue-resistant strength. In extruding a long metal billet with an extruder, a die equipped with at least one hole section-varying device capable of acting due to a cylinder device or the like is employed with suitably varying the hole section profile of the die during extrusion so that a long extruded metal article of miscellaneous shapes where the section profile of at least the lengthwise direction of it varies is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5346041
Abstract: There is disclosed an improved sliding exhaust brake system installed on a large vehicle. The brake system comprises a housing, an exhaust gas passage, a main valve member taking the form of a flat plate, one or more exhaust pressure-adjusting holes formed in the main valve member, an auxiliary valve member, and a holding mechanism. The main valve member engages the piston rod of an air cylinder device. The auxiliary valve member can move a given distance relative to the main valve member. When the exhaust gas passage is opened or closed by the main valve member, the auxiliary valve member opens or closes the adjusting holes. At this time, the holding mechanism temporarily prevents relative movement between the the two valve members.
