  • Publication number: 20100013834
Abstract: A method for displaying ordinate-abscissa value pairs on a display device with discrete display points in the abscissa and ordinate direction, of which the abscissa resolution is reduced by comparison with the abscissa resolution of the ordinate-abscissa value pairs, determines the respective maximum and minimum ordinate value of every ordinate-abscissa value pair, which is disposed within the half spacing distance of the abscissa value relative to the adjacent abscissa value to the right and left of the display points, and replaces all ordinate-abscissa value pairs, which are disposed within the half spacing distance of the respective abscissa value relative to the respective adjacent abscissa value to the right and left of the display points, with an area between the maximum and the minimum ordinate value and the half spacing distance of the abscissa value relative to the adjacent abscissa value to the right and left of the display points.

  • Publication number: 20090177513
Abstract: A dynamic tracking application for a mobile communications device is disclosed. The dynamic tracking application enters itinerary events into the mobile communications device to create an itinerary. The itinerary events are plotted on a map that can be displayed by the mobile communications device. The itinerary is then executed by calculating and storing directions to get from one itinerary event to the next itinerary event and calculating and storing estimated departure and arrival times between itinerary events. This is compared to the current time and location of the mobile communications device to further determine whether the user can arrive on time at the next scheduled itinerary event based on the calculated time and distance to the next scheduled itinerary event. If not, the user is prompted to edit the itinerary or it can be done automatically.

  • Patent number: 7492700
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for analysing an OFDM signal (rIF(t)) transporting a series of data symbols on several orthogonal carrier frequencies, each data symbol having a useful part separated by a guard period from neighboring data symbols, with an analysing device (40) having a signal section (20) with a bandwidth (BWA) smaller than the bandwidth (BWOFDM) of the OFDM signal. The method comprises the steps of low pass filtering of the OFDM signal with a low pass filter (24) and shifting (26) the spectrum of the OFDM signal in order to obtain a frequency shifted filtered OFDM signal (r(i)), whereby the length of the impulse response of the low pass filter (24) is shorter than the length of the guard periods of the data symbols.

  • Publication number: 20090009524
Abstract: A method for the incrementation of counter statuses in memory cells, which are arranged respectively in rows and columns of a first memory adds a “1” to the memory content of a memory cell of a second memory, which corresponds to the memory cell at the start of a sequence of memory cells to be incremented in a row or column of the first memory in the case of every incrementation of a sequence of memory cells of the first memory, and adds a “?1” to the memory content of a memory cell of the second memory, which corresponds to the memory cell immediately following the memory cell at the end of the sequence of memory cells to be incremented associated with the start of the sequence, in the case of every incrementation of a sequence of memory cells of the first memory.

  • Publication number: 20070263742
Abstract: An approach is provided for clock-pulse synchronization between an amplitude-modulated or phase-modulated received signal and a transmitted signal by estimating the timing offset between the received signal and the transmitted signal by maximum-likelihood estimation, wherein the maximum-likelihood estimation is realized through a pre-filtering dependent upon the transmission characteristic, a subsequent nonlinear signal-processing function and an averaging filtering. The received signal is an offset quadrature-phase-modulated received signal, and the nonlinear signal-processing function maintains the alternating components in the spectrum of the pre-filtered offset quadrature-phase-modulated received signal.

  • Publication number: 20070258534
Abstract: A method and a device for synchronizing the carrier frequency of a carrier signal comprising a frequency offset and/or a phase offset. According to the invention, the method estimates the frequency offset and/or phase offset of the carrier signal by means of a maximum likelihood estimation from a received signal, which comprises temporally discrete, complex rotary indices, for which only the temporally discrete phases are dependent on the frequency offset and/or phase offset. An offset quadrature-modulated received signal is thus converted into a modified received signal comprising temporally discrete, complex rotary indices, for which only the temporally discrete phases are dependent on the frequency offset and/or the phase offset.
