  • Patent number: 10551496
Abstract: Systems and methods for verifying the presence of an attendee in an education session include providing, by a computer hardware processor, information for a codified sound to a leader of the education session, where the leader is located in a substantially enclosed space in which the education session is held. The codified sound represents a leader code. The codified sound is emitted from a first device associated with the leader. A sound signal is received by a second device associated with the attendee. An attendee code is determined from the sound signal received by the second device. The system, such as using the computer hardware processor or the second device, determines whether the attendee code matches the leader code.

  • Publication number: 20190042887
Abstract: A system for building, training and productionizing machine learning models is disclosed. A model training specification is received, and a plurality of sets of hyper-parameters is obtained. Sets of training data and hyper parameter sets are distributed to distributed training systems. Models are trained in parallel using different sets of training data. Models are trained using multiple sets of hyper parameters. A candidate hyper-parameter set is selected, based on a measure of estimated effectiveness of the trained predictive models, and a production predictive model is generated by training a predictive model using the selected candidate hyper-parameter set and the complete set of training data.

  • Patent number: 10127195
Abstract: Selective content presentation for the purpose of self-imposed censoring of content is implemented on an electronic device. The selective content presentation involves acquiring a content suppression preference for suppressing content presentation at an electronic device. Subsequently, a content portion and a content selection tag for the content portion are also received at the electronic device. When the electronic device determines based on the content selection tag that a part of content portion is designated for suppression by the content suppression preference, the part of the content portion is obstructed by the electronic device to form a modified content portion. The modified content portion is further presented to a user via the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 9690937
Abstract: A computer-implemented technique provides rules for use in a malicious activity detection system. The technique involves performing evaluation operations on a plurality of malicious activity detection rules. The technique further involves ranking the plurality of malicious activity detection rules in an order based on results of the evaluation operations (e.g., sorting the rules systematically in an order based on measures such as precision, recall, correlation to other rules already in use, etc.). The technique further involves, based on the order of the plurality of malicious activity detection rules, providing a malicious activity detection rule report which recommends a set of malicious activity detection rules of the plurality of malicious activity detection rules for use in the malicious activity detection system.

  • Publication number: 20160132301
Abstract: Non-limiting examples of the present disclosure describe programmatic generation of a user interface for display on a processing device. A display class is determined from a plurality of display classes based on a detected display size of a processing device on which the user interface is to display. Prior to instantiating a user interface window, a stored user interface definition is identified and interpreted. The stored user interface definition comprises at least one programmed command object. A displayed user interface is instantiated on the processing device, where the displayed user interface comprises at least one user interface element. The user interface element is programmatically generated by translating the programmed command object of the user interface definition into the user interface element based on operations set in accordance with the determined display class. Other examples are also described.
