  • Publication number: 20130238138
Abstract: An aspirating smoke detector detects blockages and interruptions in a pipe system. Air is aspirated, by a ventilator and via the pipe system, from rooms and devices that are to be monitored, and monitoring takes place for any characteristics of burning. The air flow of at least one part of the aspirated air is measured, as is the air temperature. A blockage signal is emitted if the air flow falls below a predetermined lower limit value and/or an interruption signal is emitted if the air flow rises above a predetermined upper limit value. The rotational speed of the ventilator is increased as air temperature rises and reduced as air temperature lowers.

  • Patent number: 8468791
Abstract: A texturing machine is described comprising a plurality of processing points for texturing a plurality of multifilament threads. The texturing machine comprises a plurality of delivery mechanisms per processing point and a texturing system for guiding, drawing and texturing one of the threads. A central heating device is associated with the processing points for thermal treatment of a plurality of threads, wherein the texturing systems within the processing points downstream of the heating device each delimit a texturing distance. In order to treat all threads qualitatively the same, according to the invention the texturing systems of the processing points associated with a thread outlet of the heating device are held in a symmetrical arrangement with respect to the heating device such that the threads within the processing points can be guided in texturing distances of the same length.

  • Publication number: 20130159551
Abstract: A system and method for parameter-driven value conversion in a client/server architecture is presented. A request is received from a client computer for an application service. The request includes a parameter defining a data field for a conversion and a conversion ID that specifies the conversion. A lookup is performed of a converter in a conversion registry based on the conversion ID, and the converter is then called to perform the conversion of the data field defined by the parameter in the request, to generate a converted data field. Finally, the converted data field is returned to the protocol handler.

  • Publication number: 20130143022
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing diamond layers, wherein firstly, in a first growing step, diamond is grown on a growing surface of a off axis or a off-axis heterosubstrate in such a way that a texture width, in particular a polar and/or azimuthal texture width, of a diamond layer produced during the growth decreases with increasing distance from the substrate and then, in a second growing step, diamond is grown in such a way that the texture width of the diamond layer remains substantially constant as the distance from the substrate further increases, and lattice planes of the substrate being inclined by an angle greater than zero with respect to the growing surface.

  • Patent number: 8378245
Abstract: A push-to-trip mechanism is provided for a handle assembly for an electrical switching apparatus, such as circuit breaker. The handle assembly includes a casing coupled to the exterior of the circuit breaker housing over the push-to-trip button of the circuit breaker. The push-to-trip mechanism includes an actuating member at least partially disposed within an aperture of the casing. The actuating member is movable between an actuated position corresponding to the actuating member actuating the push-to-trip button, and an unactuated position corresponding to the actuating member not actuating the push-to-trip button. A resilient element biases the actuating member toward the unactuated position. The push-to-trip mechanism is operable from the exterior of the handle assembly casing, thereby enabling the push-to-trip button of the circuit breaker to be actuated, without removing the casing.
