    Abstract: For compensating unbalance of vehicle wheels, adhesive weight elements (8) are positioned and pressed onto a determined compensation surface (17) on a wheel (7) using a balancing head (1) and a program-controlled handling device (9). The adhesive weight elements (8) in the form of an endless weight strand (5) are fed by a feed device (2) arranged on the balancing head (1) to a following roll-on roller (3) that presses the beginning of the endless weight strand (5) onto the beginning of the compensation surface (17) and thereafter rolls along thereon. A length cut-off device (4) is provided in or before the roll-on roller (3) and cuts-off the endless weight strand (5) of the adhesive weight elements (8) in a determined length.

    Abstract: To mount a pneumatic tire (R) on a drop base rim (F), the pneumatic tire (R) is gripped by a gripper (2), which is arranged on a handling device (1), on the tread, and the first tire bead thereof is slipped over a flange of the rim (F) by controlled movement of the gripper (2). Subsequently, the gripper (2) is released from the pneumatic tire (R), and the tire (R) is moved into an initial position for mounting the second tire bead by adjustment members (33, 34). Mounting tools (27, 28, 29) arranged on the gripper (2) are guided along on the rim (F) by rotating the gripper (2) about the axis of the rim (F), resulting in the second tire bead being slipped over the rim (F).

The sealing face is formed by an annular flange which surrounds the opening and includes a plurality of wedge-shaped segments. The width of the wedge-shaped segments increases away from the opening. The wedge-shaped segments are displaceable relative to one another and substantially radially relative to the opening.

    Abstract: A tire filling apparatus preferably includes a support and seal arrangement on which a wheel-tire combination is supported in a horizontally lying orientation, a tire filling plate, and a plurality of differently-sized tire filling rings. Based on the diameter of the wheel-tire combination to be filled with air, a properly sized one of the filling rings is selected and positioned coaxially along the wheel axis between the tire and the filling plate. The filling plate moves toward the tire, sealingly contacts the filling ring, and presses the filling ring against the upwardly facing tire sidewall, until an open air filling gap is formed between the tire sidewall bead and the wheel rim. Pressurized air is introduced through the filling plate, the filling ring, and the open air filling gap into the tire interior, until the gap is closed by the increasing air pressure in the tire.

    Abstract: A balancing station for positioning and holding a vehicle wheel for the attachment of a balance weight has a clamping device which has at least two mutually opposing jaws designed for pressing against the wheel periphery, the jaws being rotatably mounted around a common clamping axis. At least one jaw is rotatable and movable to and fro in the direction of the clamping axis via a drive. Via a conveyor device the vehicle wheel can be conveyed prone between the jaws of the clamping device. The clamping device can be moved into a tilted position wherein the clamping axis is inclined at an angle of at least 30 degrees from the horizontal out of a basic position wherein the clamping axis of the jaws is aligned substantially horizontally. In this way, weights can be applied particularly ergonomically to the inner face of the wheel.
