  • Publication number: 20060096373
Abstract: A balancing station for positioning and holding a vehicle wheel (36) for the attachment of a balance weight has a clamping device (13) which has at least two mutually opposing jaws (23, 25) designed for pressing against the wheel periphery, said jaws being rotatably mounted around a common clamping axis. At least one jaw (25) is rotatable and movable to and fro in the direction of the clamping axis by means of a drive. By means of a conveyor device (6) the vehicle wheel (36) can be conveyed prone between the jaws (23, 25) of the clamping device (13). The clamping device (13) can be moved into a tilted position wherein the clamping axis is inclined at an angle of at least 30° from the horizontal out of a basic position wherein the clamping axis of the jaws (23, 25) is aligned substantially horizontally. By this means weights can be applied particularly ergonomically to the inner face of the wheel.

  • Publication number: 20060049616
Abstract: In a device for clamping the rim of a vehicle wheel, in particular for mounting tires, comprising a shelf (35), onto which the rim may be deposited by one side, and comprising clamping jaws (12 to 15), which may be moved radially relative to the rim, for clamping the rim edge adjacent to the shelf (35), two pairs of clamping jaws (12 to 15), of which the paths of movement intersect at right angles, are provided. The movement of the clamping jaws (12 to 15) is generated by a cylinder (22) and is synchronized by means of a gear unit (27).

  • Publication number: 20050141790
Abstract: In a balancing machine for the measurement of, and compensation for, any unbalance of rotors, with a sliding bearing (1) for rotatably mounting a rotor (2) to be balanced and a supply device for supplying the sliding bearing (1) with a fluid, said sliding bearing (1) comprising a bearing shell (6) with a hollow cylindrical bearing face mounting a rotor section having a cylindrical sliding face, the bearing shell (6) is made of a hard ceramic material and the supply device is designed to supply the fluid in minimum amounts.

  • Patent number: 6467524
Abstract: A pneumatic tire filling station includes a support and seal arrangement on which one side wall of the tire is supported and sealed, and a tire filling bell that presses and seals against the opposite side wall of the tire and then supplies pressurized air into the tire. The filling bell includes outer and inner rings that are concentrically slidable relative to each other. One of the rings is selected for the filling operation depending on the size of the tire. The support and seal arrangement includes plural plate members that are joined and sealed together to form a continuous support and seal surface, or moved laterally apart to allow a transport apparatus to carry and support the mounted tire from underneath. The tire filling station is adaptable to different models and sizes of mounted tires even in a mixed process flow, in an automated manner.
