  • Patent number: 7850565
Abstract: A plate-link chain, in particular a toothed plate-link chain, made up of a plurality of plates that form sets of plates which are connected to neighboring sets of plates with a hinged connection. One rocker member of a hinged connection is connected to the plates of a set of plates through a connection opening, and two rocker members of neighboring sets of plates form the hinged connection. The rocker members can roll against each other at a roller profile, and the set of plates includes at least one guide plate. The rocker member includes a guide profile that is connected to a rocker profile through a first connecting profile and a second connecting profile. The guide plate has at least one connection opening which has an undercut or recess in the region of the first and/or second connecting profile.

  • Patent number: 7704177
Abstract: A power-split transmission having several ranges of transmission ratios with continuously variable speed reductions. A drive shaft is connected to two shafts of a variable speed drive unit via a distributor gear whose shafts are in turn connected with the input shafts of a parallel gearbox via respective clutches. Two ranges of ratios only differ from each other through the reduction of the input shaft of the parallel gearbox and their output shafts. An additional embodiment includes a variable speed drive unit, a first planetary drive that is connected with a drive shaft, an input shaft of the variable speed drive unit and a connecting shaft, as well as a second planetary drive that is connected with the connecting shaft of the output shaft of the variable speed drive unit, and an output shaft and an electric motor that is nonrotatably connected with the connecting shaft.

  • Patent number: 7686735
Abstract: A continuously variable power-branched transmission for a motor vehicle, including an input shaft, a variable speed drive unit having pairs of conical disks and a continuously variable transmission ratio, a gear system, and an output shaft. Two control clutches connect the variable speed drive unit and the gear system so that when going through the entire transmission ratio range of the power-branched transmission the adjustment range of the variable speed drive unit is passed through a plurality of times. The transmission also includes rotational speed sensors and a controller that determines whether a change in rotational speed is triggered by a change in the transmission ratio, and when it is not triggered by a change in the transmission ratio, the controller adjusts the variable speed drive unit so that the change in rotational speed not triggered by a change in the transmission ratio is compensated.

  • Patent number: 7658690
Abstract: A plate link chain for a motor vehicle drive system. A number of link plates are hingedly connected by pairs of rocker members that extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the chain. Curved contact surfaces are located on each of the rocker members and link plates, along which contact surfaces the rocker members and link plates contact each other to transmit power. The rocker members also include curved pitch surfaces along which rocker member pairs roll against each other to transmit power. The rocker members are shaped asymmetrically in the height direction and about a cross section plane extending in the longitudinal direction of the chain. Contact surfaces are provided on each of the upper and lower contact surface areas in the height direction of the rocker members.

  • Publication number: 20090305847
Abstract: A drive train of a motor vehicle with an internal combustion engine, a torque converter and a transmission, wherein a separation clutch is provided between the internal combustion engine and the torque converter. In order to be able to perform a creeping process at a certain creeping velocity, the separation clutch is operated slipping. This way, the gearing of the startup process can be configured long, even when using a so-called hard torque converter, without having to tolerate a creeping velocity, which is too high.

  • Patent number: 7603893
Abstract: The input rotational speed of a belt-driven conical-pulley transmission is determined by measuring a wheel rotational speed and the transmission ratio and by calculating the input rotational speed therefrom. In order to ascertain the slipping of a CVT transmission, the rate of change in the transmission ratio is drawn upon, or an acoustic parameter of the transmission is used. In the fluid control system, a valve is used whose opening cross-section is controlled according to the one differential pressure. In order to oil the conical discs, injection holes of an injection tube are used that passes through a slot provided in a slide rail resting against a strand of a flexible torque transmitting member of a conical disc flexible drive.

  • Patent number: 7493203
Abstract: A method for regulating or controlling the transmission ratio of an automatic power-branched transmission. Power is transmitted through a shaft driven by an engine, a variable speed drive, a gear transmission, a driven shaft, and at least two control clutches. The variable speed drive and the gear transmission are connected to each other in such a way that the regulating range of the variable speed drive is traversed in one direction within a first range of transmission ratios, and is traversed in the opposite direction within a second range of transmission ratios during traversing of the entire range of transmission ratios. The shifting strategies result in reduced wear of the endless belt device and allow for comfortable changing between the transmission ratio ranges.

  • Publication number: 20080090693
Abstract: A planetary transmission having a continuously variable transmission ratio. Two sun wheels with sun wheel outer circumferential surfaces are rotatable coaxially at different rotational speeds and coaxially spaced from each other. A ring wheel is coaxial with the sun wheels and has a radially inner circumferential surface. Planet wheels having planet wheel outer circumferential surfaces are in frictional contact with the ring wheel inner circumferential surface and the sun wheel outer circumferential surfaces. The sun wheel outer circumferential surfaces, the planet wheel outer circumferential surfaces, and the ring wheel inner circumferential surface are so shaped that when there is axial displacement of the ring wheel relative to the sun wheels, tilting of the axes of rotation of the planet wheels relative to the axis of rotation of the sun wheels occurs. The transmission ratio between the sun wheels changes in opposite directions.
