Abstract: An image fixing device, including first and second rotatable members for forming a nip therebetween, which transports from an entrance side to an exit side a recording material and fixes an image thereon; a mechanism for driving the first and second rollers; charge removing members having charge removing ends arranged along a longitudinal direction of the rotatable members and adjacent to a peripheral surface of the first rotatable member without contact thereto, the charge removing ends are within a region defined by the exist side ends of press-contact areas between the first rotatable member and the recording material and between the second rotatable member and the recording material, peripheral surfaces of the first and second rotatable members at the exit side, and a common tangent plane which is tangent to both of the peripheral surfaces of the first and second rotatable members at the exist side.

Abstract: A development apparatus has a developer supporting member having a magnet therein and a thickness controlling member for the developer, the developer being a magnetic one-component developer which is applied to the surface of the developer supporting member by means of the thickness controlling member, the applied surface of the developer supporting member being brought into a position opposed to a latent-image carrying member to develop the latent image thereon, the surface of the developer supporting member being roughened by sand blast treatment with irregularly shaped and/or sized particles.

Abstract: In a dry type developing device having a magnetic field producing means, nonmagnetic developer supporting means, means for moving said magnetic field producing means and said nonmagnetic developer supporting means relative to each other, and means for supplying developer to that side of the nonmagnetic developer supporting means which is opposite to the magnetic field producing means, the surface of the nonmagnetic developer supporting means which is adjacent to the developer supply means is provided with plating containing grains therein.

Abstract: A device for fixing a toner image on an image supporting member includes a first and a second roller for conveying the image supporting member while holding it therebetween and fixing the toner image on the image supporting member, and an applicator being in contact with the first roller and applying offset preventing liquid to the first roller. The portion of contact of the applicator with the first roller is provided with a first portion contacting the fixing action area of the first roller and a second portion including the end areas of the portion of contact with respect to the lengthwise direction of the first roller. The applicator has, in at least the portion of contact, a liquid amount control member formed of synthetic resin having fine continuous pores. The offset preventing liquid oozes out to the surface of the synthetic resin through the fine continuous pores and is applied to the first roller.

Abstract: The disclosure describes a fixing device for electrophotographic copying machine of the type in which a support carrying thereon a powder image is passed between a pair of rotary members so as to thermally fix the powder image on the support. At least one of said rotary members is heated by a heat source and its surface temperature is controlled by temperature detecting means to maintain it at a predetermined set temperature which is variable in accordance with various conditions of the copying machine, but satisfying a particular temperature relation specified therefor.
