  • Publication number: 20220281210
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a mat is provided. The method involves securing a first layer formed of a polymer within a base die, positioning an intermediate cushion layer on top of the first layer, securing a second layer formed of the polymer to the base die, and securing a perimeter of the first layer to a perimeter of the second layer by radio-frequency welding, so as to envelop the intermediate cushion layer within the first and second layers and thereby form the mat. The first layer has a first surface and an opposing second surface in contact with the base die. The intermediate cushion layer has a first surface and an opposing second surface in contact with the first surface of the first layer. The second layer has a first surface and an opposing second surface in contact with the first surface of the intermediate cushion layer.

  • Publication number: 20210060639
Abstract: A molten metal conveyor having a receptor plate in contact with molten metal during transport of the molten metal. The receptor plate extends from an entrance where molten metal enters onto the receptor plate to an exit where molten metal exits the receptor plate. The molten metal conveyor has at least one vibrational energy source which supplies vibrational energy directly to the receptor plate in contact with molten metal. A corresponding method for forming a metal product includes providing molten metal onto a molten conveyor; cooling the molten metal by control of a cooling medium flowing through a cooling passage in the or attached to the conveyor; and coupling vibrational energy directly into a receptor plate in contact with the molten metal on the conveyor.
