  • Publication number: 20230277886
Abstract: An electrical scheme and architecture intended for a Fire Suppression System utilizing resonant or impulsive acoustic waves. The system is capable of surviving within an active wildfire environment and harvesting energy from the fire to power itself or actively diverting thermal energy for temporary cooling. The electrical systems optimize and modulate the fire suppression acoustic wave output for the changing ambient environment and actively tune the system to reduce power requirements.

  • Publication number: 20230278767
Abstract: An interlocking wrap and method for covering an outer surface of an object provides desirable qualities to complex tube shapes using a flat piece of material. The wrap may cover tubes, handles, rods, or hoops, in their many examples. Existing adhesive technologies applied to the back of the material, combined with the formation of the material into a series of three or more offset tabs that interlock when folded together in the prescribed alternating order at their meeting points, creates a cover that is pleasing to the eye, protective, and durable to frictional use. The tabs overlap one over the next in similar fashion to a zipper or a braid, only leaving the bottom tab exposed to use.

  • Publication number: 20230277885
Abstract: A novel fire control and extinguishing method intended for a Fire Suppression System. This system can be mounted statically, deployed from a vehicle, or incorporated into a complete unmanned vehicle (autonomous or remotely operated) using an electrical system or thermoacoustic means to generate acoustic waves to accomplish fire control and/or fire suppression. This approach eliminates the need for a vehicle to carry chemical flame retardants/extinguishers, or other traditional fire combating means, resulting in an impactful environmental footprint reduction and a marked specific efficiency improvement. The acoustic wave is generated through thermoacoustic or mechanical means using a linear actuator of magnet-and-coil, piezoelectric, or magnetostrictive construction and operating near mechanical, electrical, and acoustic resonance to reduce system power and mass.

  • Patent number: 11656135
Abstract: A high-resistance sensor. The sensor includes a first low-resistance material and a second low-resistance material, each connected with a base material. The first low-resistance material and the second low-resistance material are separated by a gap. A stimulus causes the first low-resistance material and the second low-resistance to move toward each other. A high-resistance material is positioned within the gap intermediate the first low-resistance material and the second low-resistance material. The high-resistance material increases the resistance of a circuit formed by contact between the first low-resistance material and the second low-resistance material when the sensor is subject to the stimulus.
