Patent number: 11082852Abstract: A technique is disclosed, according to which a mobile node, having a plurality of interfaces and performing communication according to flow information when an operator is performing communication based on the flow information as defined by a policy, can select an interface suitable for the flow and can perform communication. According to this technique, a mobile node (MN 10) having a plurality of interfaces has a list to indicate domain limited flows to be transmitted only within a specific network (a trusted network), and a list to indicate the trusted networks. When a certain interface performs handover, and in case there is a domain limited flow that uses the interface, it is decided whether the network of handover destination is a trusted network or not, and in case the network of the handover destination is not a trusted network, it is decided whether it is possible or not to transmit and receive the domain limited flow via another interface that is connected to the trusted network.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2019Date of Patent: August 3, 2021Assignee: Sun Patent TrustInventors: Keigo Aso, Jun Hirano, Chan Wah Ng, Pek Yew Tan, Chun Keong Benjamin Lim, Tien Ming Benjamin Koh

Patent number: 9237174Abstract: A system of managing collaborative session control when controller is lost or changes to passive-control mode in a data communication network comprising of a control-capable terminal device that can generate and send user preferences on successive controller selection and control policy, a master server device that can make control transfer decisions or take over control upon events, a normal terminal device that can process and response to master server queries on control capacity and its willingness to take over control. These apparatus are connected to each other inside one collaborative session, regardless of their subscriptions. A method of control management of the collaborative session without constant enrollment of controller comprises the steps of sending different types of preferences to master server device; making control transfer or handover decision; and interacting with affected terminals.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2010Date of Patent: January 12, 2016Assignee: PANASONIC INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT CO., LTD.Inventors: Xiaofei Zhou, Pek Yew Tan, Swaroop Sampath Kumar

Patent number: 9204415Abstract: The present invention introduces system, apparatus and method that reduce wastage of network resources and mobile phone resources. The mobile phone would indicate its status in a tracking area update message when it is connected to the device. The network can then understand from the status indication that the mobile phone is capable of delivering packets to the device, and would thus allow the server to initiate communications. An absence of the status indication would imply the mobile phone is not capable of delivering packets to the device, and the network would then disallow the server to initiate communications.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2010Date of Patent: December 1, 2015Assignee: Panasonic Intellectual Property Corporation of AmericaInventors: Chan Wah Ng, Hong Cheng, Shinkichi Ikeda, Takahisa Aoyama, Jens Bachmann, Sampath Swaroop Kumar, Terufumi Takada, Pek Yew Tan

Method for determination of wireless terminals positions and associated system and apparatus thereof
Patent number: 9121924Abstract: Conventional position estimation methods require the deployment of more fixed anchors in order to increase the accuracy in a crowded indoor environment, or they suffer from inaccuracies due to multipath fading. The present invention overcomes the problems associated with the prior arts by selecting one or more mobile nodes as virtual anchors when estimating the position of a target mobile node. This takes advantage of the fact that mobile nodes are closer to the target mobile node than the access points in most typical deployments, thus eliminating the need to deploy more access points or fixed anchors for the purpose of position determination. After obtaining an initial estimate of the position of the target mobile node, the target mobile node can serve as virtual anchors to estimate the positions of other mobile nodes, which can then be used to further refine the position estimate of the target mobile node.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2011Date of Patent: September 1, 2015Assignee: PANASONIC INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CORPORATION OF AMERICAInventors: Chan Wah Ng, Kian Soon Cheng, Pek Yew Tan
