  • Patent number: 8345678
Abstract: A technique for flexibly performing processes depending on the type of a path for providing an additional service when there are a plurality of paths for providing additional services for the same session between terminals communicating with each other over a network is disclosed. According to the technique, when a mobile terminal (MN 100) establishes a QoS path using NSIS to a corresponding node (CN 124) on different types of data communication paths, a signaling message including information (MIE) representing the path type is created and transmitted. Each node (QNE) with an NSIS QoS function, which has received the message, identifies a plurality of QoS paths by comparing the MIE, a session identifier and a flow identifier, and performs processing of the QoS paths according to control information (CI) from MNs or/and the policy which the QNE has.

  • Publication number: 20120264443
Abstract: The present invention introduces system, apparatus and method that reduce wastage of network resources and mobile phone resources. The mobile phone would indicate its status in a tracking area update message when it is connected to the device. The network can then understand from the status indication that the mobile phone is capable of delivering packets to the device, and would thus allow the server to initiate communications. An absence of the status indication would imply the mobile phone is not capable of delivering packets to the device, and the network would then disallow the server to initiate communications.

  • Patent number: 8279807
Abstract: A technology is disclosed with which a mobile terminal moving in a PMIP domain receives various types of prefixes and selects a type of an address to be configured, and route optimization is performed without adding a signaling load on the PMIP domain. According to the technique, when connecting with a home domain, a MN (310) requests a plurality of prefixes. When a MAG (320) makes an AAA server (340) authorize the MN and receives a notification instruction of the plurality of prefixes from the AAA server, the MAG 320 makes a notification of the plurality of prefixes with a RA message (364), for example. The MN configures a plurality of addresses (for example, a PMIP address including a PMIP domain prefix or a global address including an on-link prefix) from the plurality of prefixes received and notifies the MAG of the same. The MAG registers a plurality of bindings relating to the plurality of addresses with a LMA (330).

  • Patent number: 8276189
Abstract: A system that allows indirect access of a network by TE, comprising TE device information; a personal network (PN) server; a master UE of a personal network; a TE of a personal network; and a UE B connected to a WAN which forwards data to and from TEs. Using the master UE the user sets configuration details which is the TE device information and stored at the PN Server. The TE device information contains data which is used to allow and control access of TE to the network, when the TE uses other UEs to access the network. When the TE tries to access the network through another UE B, the PN Server uses the TE device information to authenticate and control access of TE. UE B acts as a forwarding device in this sequence between TE and the PN server.

  • Patent number: 8249086
Abstract: Disclosed is a technique which enables a mobile node (MN) connected to a mobile router (MR) to carry out flow filtering in a mobile network. This technique allows an MN 25 in a mobile network 24 to set a policy needed for the flow filtering in an MR 10 and, in the present invention, an MR inserts an egress characteristic thereof into, for example, a router advertisement message so that the egress characteristic, a node in a mobile network cannot grasp originally, can be advertised to the interior of the mobile network. Thus, the MN can grasp a characteristic of an access network (characteristic of access system 20) even in a case in which it is connected to the MR, which achieves intelligent flow filtering.

  • Patent number: 8107448
Abstract: A technology is disclosed for reducing the burst of DAD messages which may be triggered due to the change of the network prefix when using the technique of the neighbor discovery proxy. According to this technology, in roaming from the access network link 101 to the access network link 102, MR 121 receives advertisement of a new prefix 172 from AR 112. MR 121 selects and informs, for example only MR 122, that it is necessary to change the prefix. Thus, MR 122 and VMN 132 configure new addresses, respectively. When address configuration is completed at the mobile network of MR 122, MR 121 informs another MR 123 that it is necessary to change the prefix, and then MR 123 and VMN 133 configure new addresses, respectively. This can prevent DAD messages generated along with the address configuration from flocking in a short period.
