  • Publication number: 20140309514
Abstract: Disclosed is an ECG electrode lead wire connector which provides improved electrical and mechanical coupling of the ECG electrode press stud to the lead wire and is suitable for use during imaging procedures such as, without limitation, CT scans or MRI. The connector assembly includes a housing having. An engagement member is pivotably disposed within the housing to retain the connector on an ECG electrode fixed to a patient's body, an arcuate stiffener is deposed between the engagement member and a pivot member and a radiolucent resilient member configured to bias the engagement member.

  • Patent number: 8795004
Abstract: Disclosed is an ECG electrode lead wire connector which provides improved electrical and mechanical coupling of the ECG electrode press stud to the lead wire, provides enhanced ergonomics to the clinician, and may alleviate patient discomfort associated with the attachment and removal of ECG leads. The connector may be engaged and disengaged with little or no force imparted to the patient or the ECG pad, which significantly minimizes the risk of inadvertent dislodgement of the pad. In one embodiment the disclosed connector provides a thumb cam lever which affirmatively engages the press stud to the connector, and provides tactile feedback to the clinician that the connector is properly engaged. In other embodiments, the connector provides a pushbutton to enable the clinician to easily engage and disengage the connector from the ECG stud. The disclosed connectors may also decrease clinician fatigue, and may provide more reliable ECG results.

  • Publication number: 20120209538
Abstract: In accordance with the present disclosure, a method of using acoustic emission data to predict the state of a structural element is described. The method includes capturing acoustic emission data for a structural element. The method further includes predicting the future stress intensity in the structural element using the captured acoustic emission data and calculating the probability of future failure of the structural element using the predicted future stress intensity.

  • Publication number: 20080279483
Abstract: An invention is a collapsible bag such as a duffel bag, that can be folded between its end walls. The bag is equipped with a zipper that is fixed to the side of the bag and radiates in a V-shape toward the ends of the bag. As the zipper is closed, it brings together the ends of the bag. Optionally, the zipper continues to run around the perimeter of the end walls of the bag so that the end walls form an enclosure containing the body of the bag.

  • Patent number: 7278355
Abstract: A multiple stage pyrotechnic shell apparatus is disclosed. The invention has enhanced efficiency to increase lift and reduce the risk of one or more of the charges from exploding near the ground. The enhanced efficiency is obtained through the novel use of shaped breaks that conform to the shape of the inner surface of the shell's launch tube, and in particular through the use of cylindrically shaped breaks in round launch tubes. In addition, the present invention further enhances efficiency by configuring the breaks such that all the breaks weigh the same or the upper breaks weigh more than the lower breaks in the launch tube.

  • Patent number: 6129254
Abstract: A backpack either conventional or of the rolling type having an integrated flexible filing system for storing books, folders, files, papers, and other paraphernalia. The flexible filing system is comprised of a plurality of semi-rigid dividers securely attached to a back wall or panel in the main compartment of the backpack. The dividers are attached to a flexible side wall to allow the system to expand or collapse as needed. Optional features include graduated dividers that are progressively shorter from rear to back to facilitate access to the compartments. An additional optional feature is to make the top edges of the dividers at an oblique angle to facilitate viewing of materials sorted or stored in the compartments formed by the expandable file system. The expandable file systems can also be permanently attached to the back panel of a backpack or could be removable by using a hook and loop fastener.

  • Patent number: 6030167
Abstract: An apparatus for loading wafers into horizontal quartz tube, the apparatus includes a base plate, holding plate, trolley main body and two supporting bases. The base plate has a plurality of stages, which is lifted by a loading rod and fixed atop thereon, for placing wafers. The holding plate has a plurality of fixing screws and altitude adjusting screws for supporting the base plate and changing an altitude of the base plate to match an altitude of wafer boat. The trolley main body, which supports the holding plate by supporting pillars, provides with a plurality of position holes for carrying the holding plate and moving the base plte. The two supporting bases are connected by a solid plate, whose both ends are respectively attached at hollows formed at the middle of each of the two supporting bases. The two supporting bases are provided with a pair of slide bearings on either side of the solid plate.
