  • Publication number: 20080242224
Abstract: A communication system (100) is provided that comprises a Radio Access Network (110) having a Radio Network Controller (RNC) (114) coupled to each of a cellular Node B (112) and a Digital Broadcasting Video-Handhelds (DVB-H) Node B (120). When the communication system delivers low rate Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) user information, the user information is conveyed via the cellular Node B and a low data rate channel. When the communication system delivers high rate MBMS user information, the user information is conveyed via the DVB-H Node B and a high data rate channel. Thus the communication system provides high rate MBMS data services without imposing the system capacity constraints resulting from the employment of HSDPA by a cellular Node B.

  • Publication number: 20070050618
Abstract: The invention provides for secure end-to-end user authentication by a remote server communicating with a communication device. The communication device further communicates with an authentication device, which provides a user authentication message to the communication device for forwarding to the remote server. The authentication device comprises a data store for storing user authentication credentials. A user authentication processor performs a local authentication of a user of the authentication device in response to a user input. An authentication processor generates the authentication message if the user authentication is valid. The authentication processor implements a cryptographic function based on the user authentication credentials. A transmitter then transmits the authentication message to the at least one communication device.

Each such circumferential alignment is, within each bead, bordered axially inwardly and outwardly by second circumferential reinforcing threads having an elasticity modulus at least equal to that of the first threads. The first and second threads are separated by a rubber mix of high elasticity modulus. The outer surface of each bead includes a seat which includes an arc-shaped wall section having a geometrical center arranged axially outwardly relative to the bead. Considering an imaginary straight line passing through both the center and the bead at an angle ?=+45±5 degrees relative to the tire axis, all of the second threads are spaced from that axis by a radial distance no larger than the locus of the imaginary line.

  • Publication number: 20040237654
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of controlling the integrity of hollow fibre filtration units and of detecting leaks through a wholly or partially ruptured fibre. The inventive method is characterised in that it consists in: —emitting a noise or audible signal using an emitter located on one side of the membranes of the filtration units; —detecting the noise or audible signal emerging from a ruptured fibre on the other side of the membranes, regardless of whether or not a fluid is passing through said fibre; —amplifying the signal-noise thus obtained; —and comparing the resulting amplified signal to a threshold noise level in the same frequency range.

  • Patent number: 6636494
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of resolving collisions between at a receiver, and also to such a receiver. According to the invention, the method performed by the receiver processes the signal representative of a collision. The method consists in particular in selecting signal “fingers” having a power level greater than a threshold value, and in combining said fingers with one another to find configurations for which the packets that result from the combination are error-free, thereby enabling the transmitters from which the colliding packets originated to be identified.
