  • Patent number: 11958152
Abstract: A safety system for a power miter saw comprises a support member, at least one multidirectional manipulator including a workpiece holder member moveably mounted to the support member for securing a workpiece in place, and a control box. The workpiece holder member includes a presence indicator operatively connected to the control box and configured to detect the physical presence of a saw operator's hand on the at least one multidirectional manipulator when the saw operator's hand engages the presence indicator. The control box is operatively connectable to a trigger switch of the power miter saw so that an electric motor of the power miter saw is activated only when both the presence indicator of the safety system and the trigger switch of the power miter saw are engaged by both hands of an operator of the power miter saw.

  • Publication number: 20240115868
Abstract: A self-centering washer is positioned between the feedthrough and filter capacitor of a filtered feedthrough. The washer has openings through which first and second terminal pins extend. A first opening has an inner arcuate portion contacting the first terminal pin and an outer perimeter portion exposing the braze sealing the terminal pin to the insulator. A second opening has an inner arcuate portion contacting the second terminal pin and an outer perimeter portion exposing the braze sealing the terminal pin to the insulator. In an imaginary configuration with the first and second washer openings superimposed one on top of the other, the cumulative arcuate distance of the inner arcuate portions about one of the terminal pins, subtracting overlap, results in a gap between the superimposed washer openings that is less than a diameter of the first and second terminal pins so that the washer is prevented from lateral movement.

  • Publication number: 20240060393
Abstract: A mechanical clutch allows for transfer of torque downhole that may avoid the need for a hydraulic electrical coil-driven piston. In one or more examples, an anti-rotation guide for a downhole clutch includes a guide track and a follower moveable along the guide track for guiding relative movement between an upper armature and a lower armature. The guide track includes an axially-extending portion terminating in a circumferential loop. The axially extending portion guides the upper armature into axial engagement with the lower armature in response to rotation of the input shaft. The circumferential loop thereafter allows rotation of the upper and lower armatures together in response to further rotation of the input shaft.

  • Publication number: 20240027171
Abstract: A compact, hand-held anti-assault weapon for repelling attackers while avoiding serious injury to the potential victim. Weapon includes a rigid, metallic, cylindrical body with a concave section to serve as a secure hand grip. End caps seal the opposite ends of the body and define the hollow interior of the body. An electroshock generator is housed within the cylindrical body, and a button, on the exterior of the body, is depressed to actuate the electroshock mechanism, such as a stun gun, or Tazer. An ear on one end cap may be used to break glass, while a series of protrusions on the second end cap may be used to collect a DNA sample from an attacker. The electroshock generator discharges a burst of high intensity electrical beams through the second end cap to shock an attacker.

  • Publication number: 20240012829
Abstract: An approach to implement an extract, transform and load system, a queue is provided for holding units of data between extraction and transformation. When units of data suffer a rate limit error in the load phase, they are requeued so they can be resubmitted for transformation. The contents of the queue are monitored and, if too many requeued units of data are detected in the queue, then this is taken as an indicator of an unacceptable number of rate limit errors and active pacing management is triggered. A retry schedule is defined for the requeued units of data. Extraction is temporarily halted to allow the requeued units of data to be retransformed without more units of data queuing up. Then, after the suspension is lifted, a pacing delay is inserted between subsequent extract events to avoid the same load phase bottleneck recurring.

  • Publication number: 20230394163
Abstract: A pull request from a managed cluster may be authorized by, for each managed cluster managed by the service provider, generating an encrypted pull secret for a managed cluster, assigning the generated encrypted pull secret to the managed cluster, and responsive to receiving a pull request from a managed cluster at the service provider. The pull request may have an accompanying encrypted pull secret. The pull request may also determine whether the pull request was initiated by an intended managed cluster by decrypting the encrypted pull secret assigned to the managed cluster using a decryption key. The authorizing the pull request based on whether the decrypted pull secret is assigned to an intended managed cluster.
