  • Publication number: 20120289928
Abstract: This disclosure relates to medical tubing installation detection. In certain aspects, a method is performed by a data processing apparatus. The method includes detecting that a tube is incorrectly installed on a drug delivery device by providing an instruction for a motor of the drug delivery device to pump a drug and receiving, after a period of time has passed since providing the instruction for the motor of the drug delivery device to pump the drug, a signal from a fluid detector connected to the tube, the signal indicating an absence of fluid in the tube.

  • Publication number: 20120285870
Abstract: This disclosure relates to detecting fluid in medical tubing. In certain aspects, a method is performed by a data processing apparatus. The method includes controlling repetitive activation of the ultrasonic transmitter. The method also includes receiving a signal from the ultrasonic receiver during an activation of the ultrasonic transmitter. • Publication number: 20120274217
Abstract: A luminaire is providing, having a substrate of a particular shape and a plurality of solid state light sources mounted thereon. The plurality has a measurable characteristic and includes an adjustable solid state light source, such that the characteristic changes in response to adjustment thereof. The luminaire also includes a sensor that detects the characteristic from outputted light, compares it to a baseline value and, based on the comparison, so adjusts the adjustable solid state light source. The luminaire also includes a reflector with a lower edge that conforms to the particular shape of the substrate, and reflects outputted light from the plurality so that it exits past the reflector's upper edge. The luminaire also includes a lightguide having an input that is surrounded by the reflector and captures a portion of the outputted light so as to provide the captured outputted light to the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20110272447
Abstract: The instant invention is an innovative device designed to reduce the stress and strain on an individual's back that are associated with the shoveling process. The device is comprised of a shovel receptacle holder, a base plate, a base pad with a hard outer shell that contours to an individual's leg, and straps that hold the assembled device to the leg. The device is practiced by attaching the assembled device to an individual's leg; placing a shovel handle in the shovel receptacle holder; and then engaging in the normal shoveling process. However, instead of using the back to lift the shovel, the device allows the individual to use the fulcrum property to facilitate the shoveling process. This is accomplished by the individual pushing down primarily on the rear part of the shovel handle while lightly lifting the front of the handle thereby lifting the front end of the shovel.

  • Patent number: 7943097
Abstract: A zeolite based SCR catalyst for NOx reduction using a reducing agent for treating exhaust streams from industrial and commercial boilers is provided. The reactor system has a zeolite based catalyst arranged in catalyst cassettes in a modular fashion where the reactor containing the zeolite based SCR catalyst cassettes is placed in a perpendicular direction to the exhaust exiting the industrial and/or commercial boiler. The catalyst selectively reduces nitrogen oxides to nitrogen with a reducing agent at low to medium temperatures. The reactor results in high NOx conversions and very low ammonia slip and is active for a wide range of boiler firing conditions. Boilers with low NOx and/or ultra low NOx burners can be replaced with a standard conventional burner for overall emissions reduction performance, efficiency improvements and energy savings. Boilers with low NOx and ultra low NOx burners can also be fitted with this zeolite based SCR catalyst reactor for additional NOx reductions and energy savings.

  • Patent number: 7399442
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for forming a plurality of multiple layer plastic articles. The methods and systems utilize shooting pot technology in combination with a combination of thermal control elements and in some instances, specialized flow bore geometries to control a thermal property and a flow parameter of selected polymeric material flowing through the system to mold the plurality of multiple layer plastic articles. Both the systems and methods are well suited for use to perform simultaneous flow injection or sequential flow injection to form the plurality of multiple layer plastic articles. The systems and methods described therein beneficially reduce the mold cavity pitch size for multiple layer molds used with systems having shooting pot technology to a mold cavity pitch size found on conventional monolayer molds to provide a plurality of multiple layer plastic articles having a cost similar to monolayer plastic articles.

  • Patent number: 7306446
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for combining two or more streams of a polymeric material to form a plastic object. The method and apparatus are capable of ending an interior layer of the plastic object at a desired length to avoid the need to clean selected surfaces of components used to form the plastic object. The method and apparatus increase the velocity of the polymeric material used to form the plastic object in certain components used to form the plastic object. The increase in the velocity of the polymeric material facilitates the ending of the interior layer of the plastic object.

  • Patent number: 7290766
Abstract: A game including a playing area divided into a plurality of spaces, and sets of game pieces with each set associated with different players or teams. The players or teams execute strategically selected instructions, such as move, stack and flip, to position their game pieces in the spaces. The first player or team to place their game pieces on spaces such that top game pieces of stacks form a predetermined design, such as a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row, wins the game. The game allows players flexibility to select rules to adjust the skill level of the game.

  • Publication number: 20070205623
Abstract: A pedestal console for a motor vehicle includes a housing stationarily mounted within the vehicle beneath and transverse to a bench seat of the vehicle. The console includes an air duct defined by structural features extending the length of the console. This allows air from a forward ventilation system to be provided, through the air duct, to an aft portion of the vehicle. The structural features extend between the bottom surface and the top surface of the console and are dimensioned to allow the console to accept passenger floor loads. To reduce cost and parts count, the entire console is formed of a one piece construction. Finally, an interior opening may be provided to route wiring of the vehicle's electrical system to the aft portion of the vehicle.
