The broadcast program summary generation system includes a format transformation unit to transform a broadcast format of digital broadcast data into a storage format, and a summary generation unit to decode video data of the transformed digital broadcast data, to analyze the decoded video data, to detect an important event by analyzing audio data of the transformed digital broadcast data, and to generate summary information based on the important event.

The apparatus for providing image metadata includes an input unit, an image metadata decoding unit, and an image color temperature converting unit. The input unit receives an input image, metadata corresponding to the color temperature of the input image, and color temperature information preferred by a user. The image metadata decoding unit calculates a color temperature corresponding to the metadata. The image color temperature converting unit converts the color temperature of the input image using the color temperature calculated by the image metadata decoding unit and the color temperature information preferred by a user.

Abstract: A summary clip generation system according to the present invention includes: an event detection unit detecting a video event and an audio event from multimedia contents; a segment generation unit generating at least one segment by dividing or merging at least one shot which forms the multimedia contents, by referring to the video event; and a segment selection unit selecting a segment whose uprush degree is greater than a predetermined level, from the at least one segment by referring to the uprush degree which is calculated using the video event and the audio event, corresponding to each of the generated segments.

Abstract: A photo category classification method including dividing a region of a photo based on content of the photo and extracting a visual feature from the segmented region of the photo, modeling at least one local semantic concept included in the photo according to the extracted visual feature, acquiring a posterior probability value from confidence values acquired from the modeling of the at least one local semantic concept by normalization using regression analysis, modeling a global semantic concept included in the photo by using the posterior probability value of the at least one local semantic concept; and removing classification noise from a confidence value acquired from the modeling the global semantic concept.

The method for measuring transmission output power of the base station in a forward link from the CDMA base station to at least one mobile station, includes receiving output power of the base station, measuring the total output power outputted from the base station by means of an output power level measurement unit and at the same time dividing and measuring the output power of the base station in the same time zone according to each code by means of a code domain analyzer, evaluating a proportion which the pilot channel accounts for with respect to all code domains, and evaluating only output power of the pilot channel by multiplying the proportion of the pilot channel by the total output power of the base station.

Abstract: An image retrieval method and apparatus independent of an illumination change are provided. The image retrieval method involves: inputting a query image; detecting an illumination color from the query image and converting the illumination color into a standard illumination color; extracting color information of the query image by using color descriptors; and retrieving a similar image by comparing the extracted color information with color information of a database which converts a variety of images into images of standard illumination colors and extracts and stores the color information of the images in advance. According to the method, without changing the structures of color descriptors or a similarity comparison using color information, an image retrieval independent of illumination changes is enabled by adding only a preceding step of standard illumination conversion.
