  • Publication number: 20190328080
Abstract: An orthotic device having a plantar support surface to support the plantar (sole) of the forefoot portion of the foot. The plantar support surface has two walls on opposing sides. One wall supports the outer portion of the big toe and the other wall supports the outer portion of the small toe. These walls act immobilize the forefoot region of the foot and more importantly immobilize the big toe effectively eliminating or reducing pain associated with movement of the big toe due to conditions such as hallux limitus or hallux rigidus.

  • Patent number: 10458191
Abstract: Tubing encapsulated cable consists of one or more electrical conductors and possibly one or more fiber optic cables sheathed in a corrosion resistant metallic alloy. However, pumping during the installation of tubing encapsulated cable is required to overcome the capstan effect of the tubing encapsulate cable inside the coil tubing as the tubing encapsulated cable travels through the coiled up wraps of coil tubing. In an embodiment of the invention the tubing encapsulated cable consists of one or more electrical conductors and possibly one or more fiber optic cables sheathed in a fiber reinforced composite sheath. Because there is little drag between the fiber encapsulated cable and the coil tubing, conventional pumping operations used to install braided wireline into coil tubing may not be required when installing fiber encapsulated cable into coil tubing.

  • Patent number: 10394934
Abstract: Mobile devices enabled to support resolution-independent scalable display of Internet (Web) content to allow Web pages to be scaled (zoomed) and panned for better viewing on smaller screen sizes. The mobile devices employ software-based processing of original Web content, including HTML-based content, XML, cascade style sheets, etc. to generate scalable content. The scalable content and/or data derived therefrom are then employed to enable the Web content to be rapidly rendered, zoomed, and panned. Display lists may also be employed to provide further enhancements in rendering speed. Context zooms, including tap-based zooms on columns, images, and paragraphs are also enabled.

  • Patent number: 10380140
Abstract: A method builds data visualization data flow graphs. A visual specification is received that defines characteristics of a data visualization to be rendered based on data from one or more databases. The method receives metadata for the specified databases. Using the metadata and visual specification, form a data flow graph, which is a directed graph including data nodes and transform nodes. Each transform node specifies a set of inputs for retrieval, where each input corresponds to a data node. Each transform node also specifies a transform operator that identifies an operation to be performed on the inputs. Some transform nodes specify (a) a set of outputs corresponding to respective data nodes and (b) a function for use in performing the operation of the transform node. The method thereby builds a data flow graph that can be executed to render a data visualization according to the visual specification using the databases.

  • Patent number: 10319125
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are provided for creating and laying out a graphic within a drawing application program. The method includes receiving a data model defining a set of data and data relationships to be represented in the graphic, receiving a graphic definition describing the mapping of the data from the data model to a set of algorithms, algorithm parameters, constraints, constraint rules, and shape properties, determining a shape size and position for the layout nodes utilizing the set of algorithms, constraints, and constraint rules from the graphic definition, and creating a list of shapes and shape properties for the graphic, including size and position. The method further includes determining if the graphic fits a given layout into a specific area based on the set of constraint values and if the graphic does not fit the specific area, then modifying the set of constraint values using the constraint rules.

  • Patent number: 10297061
Abstract: A method and system for rendering graphics based on user customizations in a computer graphics application are disclosed. The customizations relate to various properties of one or more graphical elements in the graphic. Such properties include positioning, size, formatting and other visual attributes associated with the graphical elements. These properties may be defined as either semantic properties or presentation properties. Semantic properties are persistent across all graphic definitions. Presentation properties are specific to the graphic definition to which each particular graphic belongs. Thus, a customization to a semantic property of a displayed graphic is preserved in memory for application not only to the currently displayed graphic, but also to all other graphic definitions that may be displayed in the future. In contrast, a customization to a presentation property is only preserved for the currently displayed graphic, and thus not preserved for all other graphic definitions.

  • Publication number: 20190060254
Abstract: This invention provides methods utilizing ketamine for the treatment of motor disorders and/or side effects associated with certain medications used in the treatment of motor disorders. For example, in some embodiments, methods are provided for treating side effects associated with the administration of levodopa to a subject having Parkinson's disease, by administering a dose of ketamine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. In particular, the invention provides methods for reducing dyskinesia associated with motor disorder (e.g., Parkinson's disease) treatments, and effective doses of ketamine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

  • Publication number: 20180185155
Abstract: A component of an artificial joint according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, inter alia, a hollow tube including bone ingrowth material. Further, the hollow tube is selectively expandable. The bone ingrowth material allows the component to become biologically fixed to adjacent bone. Further, expansion of the hollow tube increases friction between the hollow tube and the adjacent bone, which increases stability.

  • Publication number: 20180093294
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for coating particulates to suppress dust and/or modify the behavior of the particulate, spray the coating onto the particulate as it moves along inclined surfaces within the coater apparatus. The coating is sprayed generally as a mist and the particulates remain free-flowing throughout the apparatus and when discharged therefrom. Apparatus using a single spray step and subsequent transfer coating steps to effect particulate-to-particulate transfer of coating achieve at least about 75% coating of the particulate. Embodiments of the apparatus with dual spray steps and without the subsequent transfer coating steps are capable of achieving at least 85% coating of particulates with a single pass through the apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20180067998
Abstract: A method sorts data in data visualizations. The method is performed at a computing device having one or more processors and memory. The method retrieves a set of tuples from a database according to user selection. Each tuple includes a same set of fields. The method identifies a relation between tuples. The relation is a non-empty set of ordered pairs of tuples from the set of tuples. The method receives user selection of the relation to specify a dimensional position of visual marks corresponding to the tuples. The dimensional position is either the x-position of the y-position. The method generates and displays a data visualization with each tuple represented by a visible mark. The dimensional position of each displayed visual mark is based on a network traversal of the tuples using the relation.

  • Patent number: 9779150
Abstract: A method filters data in data visualizations. The method retrieves a set of tuples from a database according to user selection. Each tuple includes a same set of fields. The method identifies a relation between tuples. The relation is a non-empty set of ordered pairs of tuples from the set of tuples. The method receives selection of one or more filter conditions for the tuples, where at least one of the filter conditions uses the relation. The method receives selection of an aggregation level, which includes one or more fields from the set of tuples. The method then displays a data visualization based on aggregating the set of tuples at the selected aggregation level to form a set of aggregated tuples, and displays each aggregated tuple as a visible mark. Each tuple that satisfies all of the filter conditions is included in an aggregated tuple; all other tuples are excluded.

  • Patent number: 9779147
Abstract: A method constructs data visualizations. The method receives a visual specification, which includes properties and corresponding user-selected property values. The visual specification defines a data visualization layout. One property value identifies source databases for the data visualization. The method constructs node queries from the visual specification corresponding to one or more data fields in the source databases. The method also constructs link queries from the visual specification corresponding to a relationship between rows of the source databases. The method retrieves node tuples from the database that satisfy at least one of the node queries and retrieves link tuples from the database that satisfy at least one of the link queries. The method displays visual marks corresponding to the retrieved node tuples and displays edge marks in the corresponding to the retrieved link tuples. Each edge mark visually connects a pair of visual marks corresponding to the node tuples.
