  • Patent number: 10365721
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing a variable data capture process at a data capture device comprising a data capture module and a trigger mechanism is provided. In operation, the data capture device detects an initial activation of the trigger mechanism. In response to the activation, data capture is initiated at the data capture module. A continued activation of the trigger mechanism subsequent to the initial activation is also detected. Following the detection of the continued activation of the trigger mechanism, the device identifies an obtained gesture and performs a data capture operation based on the identified gesture.

  • Publication number: 20190043389
Abstract: An apparatus for securing and locking shipping and storage totes and containers. An elongated locking strip with an insertion or pull end, a stop tab end, and a medial compression locking element is inserted at the insertion end into and through matching holes or slots in the lid or top of the tote or storage container, The strip is pulled so that the compression locking element passes through the holes or slots, with the stop tab end preventing the strip from completely passing through. Once in place, the configuration of the compression locking element prevents the apparatus from being pulled back through the holes or slots in reverse, thereby securing the top or lid, or portion of the top or lid, to the body of the container or tote. To open the container, the stop tab is removed, such as by twisting or cutting.

  • Patent number: 10197209
Abstract: In a method of reinforcing a pipe, a water penetration resistant layer and strengthening layer of fibrous material are impregnated with a curable polymer, positioned in a lining position near the pipe, and cured to form a water penetration resistant liner and a strengthening liner. The two layers can be impregnated and positioned separately or at once, for example, as a composite liner. Together, the liners provide a waterproof barrier and structural reinforcement to the resulting pipe. In a method of waterproofing a reinforced pipe, a water penetration resistant layer is impregnated with curable polymer, positioned over a previously installed reinforcing liner, and cured to form a waterproof barrier inhibiting ground water egress into the pipe. In certain embodiments of the methods, the water penetration resistant layer includes fibers woven in one of a satin weave and a twill weave.

  • Patent number: 10142454
Abstract: A method for providing a customized user interface for group communication at a communication device is provided. An electronic processor determines a list of communication groups with which a user identifier of the communication device is registered and identifies a communication group type for each communication group in the list based on service capabilities of the respective communication group. The electronic processor assigns a set of communication group types for the user identifier and determines a type of group communication application to be configured at the communication device. The electronic processor then generates user interface elements as a function of the set of communication group types and the type of group communication application and configures the group communication application including the user interface elements at the communication device for supporting group communication.

  • Patent number: 10001238
Abstract: A method of repairing a section of a pipe including a breach in the pipe. A surface of a wall of the pipe is prepared generally around the breach. A piece of conformable material of the type capable of carrying a curable polymer is sized in relation to a size of the breach. The sized piece of conformable material is applied to the prepared surface so that the breach is covered by the piece of conformable material. The piece of conformable material is impregnated with a curable polymer. The curable polymer is cured within the piece of conformable material thereby to seal the breach against egress of groundwater into the pipe.

  • Patent number: 9927706
Abstract: Provided herein are methods of directed self-assembly (DSA) on atomic layer chemical patterns and related compositions. The atomic layer chemical patterns may be formed from two-dimensional materials such as graphene. The atomic layer chemical patterns provide high resolution, low defect directed self-assembly. For example, DSA on a graphene pattern can be used achieve ten times the resolution of DSA that is achievable on a three-dimensional pattern such as a polymer brush. Assembly of block copolymers on the atomic layer chemical patterns may also facilitate subsequent etch, as the atomic layer chemical patterns are easier to etch than conventional pattern materials.
