  • Publication number: 20110167578
Abstract: The present invention provides a curling broom head for improved ice surface heating and curling performance. The curling broom includes an elongate shaft having opposed first and second ends, the first end being graspable by a sweeper and being attached to a broom head attachment plate located at the second end. A curling broom head is attached to the broom head receptacle for sweeping an ice surface. The broom head includes a base section, a reflective constituent selected to reflect infrared radiation which can be a layer secured to a bottom surface of the base section, or the top of the woven fabric or both or a reflective powder incorporated into a foam pad attached to the base section, (or the foam pad being metalized), or an outer surface of an outer fabric layer located below the pad being metalized and secured to the base section. The outer surface of the outer fabric layer contacts the ice during sweeping motion by the user sweeping the ice surface with the broom.

  • Patent number: 7393042
Abstract: The sliding feed door for horse trailer is a door panel having lower and upper ends and a window. The feed door has a latching handle to secure the door in open and closed positions. Door hinges are pivotally attached to the upper sides of the feed door. A spring torsion assembly, including a torsion axle, is disposed horizontally along an upper inside trailer wall. Spools having spooled cables are attached to the torsion axle near either end. Free ends of the cables are attached to the feed door hinges. Two guide tracks are spaced apart and vertically disposed within the trailer wall. Two guide wheels are rotatably attached to the feed door hinges and adapted to being vertically slidable in the guide tracks so that spring torsion applied through the cables slides the door into a normally closed position over an opening in the trailer wall.

  • Patent number: 6962670
Abstract: The invention provides a method for measuring the thickness, or non-uniformity of thickness, of one or more layers of a film or article such as a preform. At least one layer contains a known concentration and a substantially uniform distribution of fluorophores. The fluorophores are added to the one or more layers in sufficient quantity to impart fluorescence capable of detection by a detector when exposed to electromagnetic radiation at absorbing wavelengths. The layers of the invention may be made from polymeric material, non-polymeric material, or combinations thereof.

  • Publication number: 20050150930
Abstract: A method of installing trim rings to headliner trims systems in motor vehicles comprising a trim ring, a headliner, and a sonic horn and stack. The sonic horn vibrates to bond/weld headliner to trim ring. Energy directors can be added to facilitate bonding/welding process. Fasteners can also be added for attachment to the vehicle body. This bonding/welding of the headliner to trim ring creates a smooth, molded look for the trim ring and does so without gapping to or sliding within the headliner.

  • Patent number: 5912947
Abstract: A public notification system includes a first database comprising phone numbers and one or more data fields associated with each phone number. Phone numbers (callees) in the first database are selected based on the data fields associated therewith. A recorded voice message is transmitted to callees through a plurality of outgoing phone lines, and callees are prompted to enter one of several dial codes, which is recorded. The database record for the callee is automatically updated based on the response dial code, so that the updated field may be used to select whether to send a future call to the callee. A second database comprising records identifying convicted criminals is also included in the public notification system. Each record in the second database comprises one or more data fields associated with a convicted criminal.
