  • Patent number: 7994702
Abstract: This specification describes phosphor compositions used in fluorescent layers for scanning beam displays. In general, one aspect of the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in a display device having a fluorescent layer that absorbs an excitation light at a single wavelength and emits visible light. The fluorescent layer includes a plurality of parallel fluorescent stripes. At least three adjacent fluorescent stripes are made of three different fluorescent materials, which include a first fluorescent material that absorbs the excitation light and emits light of a first color, a second fluorescent material that absorbs the excitation light and emits light of a second color, and a third fluorescent material that absorbs the excitation light and emits light of a third color.

  • Publication number: 20100308364
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a side-view light emitting diode package with a reflector. The side-view light emitting diode package of the present invention comprises first and second lead terminals spaced apart from each other. The package body supports the first and second lead terminals and has an elongated opening through which a light emitting diode chip mounting region and the first and second lead terminals are exposed. Reflectors are formed between the chip mounting region and sidewalls positioned in a major axis direction of the opening. Each of the reflectors has a height lower than that of the sidewall of the opening. Accordingly, light emitted from a light emitting diode chip can be reflected using the reflectors, thereby improving light emitting efficiency of the side-view light emitting diode package.

  • Publication number: 20080203901
Abstract: Various phosphor compositions and organic compounds can be used in fluorescent layers for scanning beam displays. In general, one aspect of the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in method of adjusting an emission spectrum of a phosphor material used in a display system that includes a fluorescent layer that absorbs an excitation light at a single wavelength and emits visible light. The method includes generating a binder mixture by combining one or more non-phosphor organic compounds with a binder material, wherein the binder mixture substantially transmits the excitation light and substantially absorbs a portion of the emission spectrum of the phosphor material. The method also includes combining the binder mixture with the phosphor material.
