  • Patent number: 4693491
Abstract: A suspension system consists of a suspension rod interposed between a vehicle body side member and a wheel side member to elastically connect them. The suspension rod includes a first elastomeric member connected to the vehicle body side member and defining a first fluid chamber. A second elastomeric member is provided in the suspension rod structure to be connected to the wheel side member, defining a second fluid chamber. The first and second fluid chambers are communicated with each other through a fluid communication passage. An incompressive fluid is filled in the first and second fluid chambers and in the fluid communication passage, thereby constituting a fluid dynamic damper for suppressing resonance vibration of the suspension system.

  • Patent number: 4642694
Abstract: A television video signal A/D converter apparatus has an A/D converter which samples a television video signal to A/D convert it in accordance with upper and lower reference potentials, and supplies the digital signals to a liquid crystal display device. The apparatus also has detectors which detect digital values of the digital signals from the A/D converter which exceed a predetermined value and are below another predetermined value, and which respectively correspond to the upper and lower reference potentials for A/D conversion by the A/D converter. The digital values exceeding and below the predetermined values are counted by a counter, and the upper and lower reference potentials are determined in accordance with the respective counts and are supplied to the A/D converter.

  • Patent number: 4568068
Abstract: A plate spring is operatively connected to an automotive internal combustion engine so that when the engine vibrates with a relatively high frequency and small amplitude, the plate spring is merely moved backwards and forwards across an essentially flat home position wherein it exhibits a zero or even negative spring constant, and so that when the engine vibrates with a relatively low frequency and large amplitude, the spring is flexed to the degree of exhibiting a high spring constant and thus transmits the vibrational energy therethrough to a resilient body or unit interconnecting same with the vehicle chassis.

  • Patent number: 4537275
Abstract: An arrangement wherein a valve or valves, which are either manually or automatically controlled, control the amount of hydraulic fluid discharged from a belt driven pulsation pump and forced into and out of a variable volume chamber arrangement which is connected in series with an elastomeric insulating member, whereby the desired vibration offsetting pressure pulsations may be produced in said chamber.

  • Patent number: 4531484
Abstract: The expansion/contraction timing of an actuator chamber is varied in accordance with the sensed engine vibration in a manner as to compensate for the frequency dependent change in pressure transmission characteristics between the chamber of the actuator and the chamber of an engine suspension insulator. This is done by sensing the engine vibration frequency or a parameter which varies in accordance with same (e.g. RPM) and suitably delaying a solenoid or similar electric motor energization signal in accordance with the frequency of the vibration.

  • Patent number: 4506380
Abstract: The major resonance noise inducing engine vibration component is determined by sensing the ignition pulses produced by the engine ignition system and compared with pre-stored data to ascertain if cabin resonance is apt to occur. In the event that resonance is predicted counter vibration is produced by a speaker or speakers. In addition to the basic engine speed parameter, the load on the engine (e.g. throttle valve position, induction vacuum or the like) and the gear ratio in which the transmission is operating may also be sensed to determine the need for the counter vibration.
