  • Patent number: 4738912
Abstract: The present invention provides a photosensitive member comprising a hydrogen-containing carbon layer as a charge transporting layer, which contains an element selected from the group consisting of Si, Ge and Sn; the hydrogen-containing carbon layer facilitates the injection of charge and decreases residual potential, and memory and increases sensitivity. Accordingly, a photosensitive member of the present invention is excellent in charge transporting property, sensitivity, charge holding property and imaged copy can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4659639
Abstract: A photosensitive member which comprises a photoconductive layer and an insulating layer located on the photoconductive layer, the photoconductive layer including amorphous silicon and the insulating layer including amorphous silicon, carbon, oxygen and fluorine. The photoconductive layer has a higher resistivity than the photosensitive member. A barrier layer may be located beneath the photoconductive layer, the barrier layer including either amorphous silicon, oxygen and a Group III impurity or amorphous silicon, carbon and oxygen.

  • Patent number: 4642278
Abstract: The present invention relates to a photosensitive member having a photoconductive layer of amorphous silicon. On the photoconductive layer, an amorphous silicon insulating layer is formed and this layer includes carbon and an element in Group IIIA of the Periodic Table. The Group IIIA element is included to control the conductivity of the insulating layer in such fashion that the majority carrier thereof is opposite in polarity to the charging polarity.

Date of Patent: February 10, 1987
    Assignee: Minolta Camera Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Yukio Tanigami, Shuji Iino, Mitsutoshi Nakamura
  • Patent number: 4642279
Abstract: The present invention relates to a photosensitive member which includes a photoconductive layer of amorphous silicon and an insulating layer formed thereover and including amorphous silicon, carbon and an element in Group III A of the Periodic Table. Carbon is included in an amount of about 35 to 65 atomic % at the outer most surface of the insulating layer and a minimum amount at the interface with the photoconductive layer. The Group III A element is included to control a majority carrier of the insulating layer to be a polarity opposite to the polarity of charging.
