  • Patent number: 6614391
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for determining the fill level of a filling substance in a container. The device includes a signal generator unit which generates high-frequency signals, a transmitter/receiver pair which transmits the signals via an antenna and receives the signals which have been reflected on the surface of the filling substance. A coaxial line is also included which has an inner conductor and an outer conductor for bearing the signals, and an evaluation unit which determines the fill level in the container using the transit time of the signals. The antenna has a wave duct which is delimited by a rear wall. A send line is provided on the rear wall of the wave duct, which runs substantially within the wave duct, whereby a first end section of the send line is connected to the inner conductor of the coaxial line.

  • Publication number: 20030137447
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for emitting high-frequency signals, comprising a signal generation unit (6), a signalling line (12), an emission cable (16) and an antenna configured as a circular waveguide (10), said antenna being sealed in an end section by a rear wall (15). According to the invention, the signal generation unit (6) creates the high-frequency signals, the signalling line (12) conducts the high-frequency signals along the emission cable (16) and said emission cable (16) projects into the interior of the antenna (10) and is positioned approximately parallel to the rear wall (15). The invention aims to provide a device for emitting electromagnetic waves, which is characterized by optimized emission characteristics. To achieve this, the distance (Z) between the emission cable (16) and the rear wall (15) of the antenna (10) is approximately &lgr;/6, whereby &lgr; is the wavelength of the high-frequency signals borne by the antenna (10).

  • Publication number: 20030055528
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and to a device for monitoring electric components in a pick and place device for substrates. The underside of a pick-up (2) is monitored by an optical scanning means (7) during the pick-up phase and during the placing phase of a component (10). A lift drive (3) for the pick-up (2) is provided with a position sensor (5) that is linked with a control device (6). The scanning means (7) emits and receives a scanning beam (22) oriented transversally to the direction of lift and is likewise coupled with the control device (6), thereby allowing to monitor the underside of the pick-up (2) in a direct time-related manner with the picking and placing of the component (10). The various lift positions are saved and compared when a threshold value of the received scanning beam (22) is exceeded so that the inventive device also allows for a monitoring of the height of the component.

  • Publication number: 20030043882
Abstract: Disclosed is an arrangement for making it possible to pick up movable components for transporting purposes and/or to set them down in order to place them for example on a device which is to be produced. Therefore, a measuring arrangement may reliably measure the presence of the movable component at an opening of a tubular element. The measuring arrangement here measures, on the basis of a temperature measurement, the gas through flow through the tubular element, which, in turn, can be related directly to the presence or absence of a component at the opening.

  • Patent number: 6499346
Abstract: This level measuring instrument which operates with microwaves, has a radiation characteristic with a pronounced forward lobe and can be used to transmit and/or receive microwaves with a large frequency bandwidth. A housing section is designed as a waveguide short-circuited at one side and one end by a rear wall, and is virtually completely filled with an insert made of a dielectric. An exciter element, projects into the housing section and is connected to a microwave source. An antenna adjoins the housing section, for transmitting and/or receiving microwaves. A gap is arranged in the insert between the exciter element and the antenna. The gap forms a filter which is essentially non-transparent to higher modes of the waveguide.

  • Patent number: 5788904
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a sealing ring. A support ring is provided, and at least one pasty, magnetizable material is applied onto a side of said support ring. The material is then hardened. First and second elastomeric sealing elements are vulcanized to the support ring, such that the ring is covered by the elastomeric material of said first sealing element. The magnetizable material is then magnetized. The magnetizable material may be a paste with at least two homogeneously distributed magnetic materials. At least two magnetic materials may be applied in succession onto said support ring; in that method, the second magnetic material is not applied until after a step of hardening the first magnetic material. After said step of hardening, the support ring may be deformed and punched out.
