    Abstract: A light source lamp cooling apparatus according to the present invention includes: diaphragm air compressor (31); an ejector which ejects cooling air directly onto a portion to be cooled of a light source lamp in lamp unit (10); pressure detector (43) which detects pressure of the cooling air by means of pressure sensor (42) inserted in piping; air piping which connects air compressor (31) and the ejector; and a lamp controller which controls turning off of the light source lamp according to the air pressure detected by pressure detector (43). Air compressor (31) is driven at a high control frequency and a hollow, flexible silicon tube is used as air piping to reduce pulsation of air.
