  • Patent number: 7506636
Abstract: A fuel pump module within a fuel tank employs at least one fuel pump, while in the case of additional fuel pumps, a manifold receives all pumped fuel and directs it into a surrounding fuel filter within a filter case. A check valve is adjacent the filter case at a first location and a pressure regulator is adjacent the check valve. With the check valve located between the filter case and the pressure regulator, high fuel pressures may be maintained in the engine supply line when the engine is shut off, while during engine operation the pressure regulator may relieve excessive fuel pressure and deliver fuel to the engine through an engine supply line. A jet pump supply line exits the filter case at a second case location and supplies fuel to one or more jet pumps, such as a fuel pump module reservoir jet pump.

  • Patent number: 6216673
Abstract: An apparatus for suppressing the purge of the evaporated fuel gas in the prior art has a chamber in the middle of the piping connecting between the input port and an external apparatus, for reducing the pulsation of fluid flow, for reducing the noise sound and mechanical vibration. The reduction effect can not be attained, when the chamber is not disposed at an antinode of vibration. And it is difficult to dispose the chamber just at such antinode. And such arrangement is not advantageous in layout designing and from point of view of fabrication cost. The problem is solved by a solenoid valve according to the present invention.

  • Patent number: 6161526
Abstract: The present invention relates to a solenoid valve fixing structure. In an apparatus for suppressing evaporated fuel gas emission, of the prior art, the solenoid valve is fixed to a frame of a vehicle independently from the fixing of a check valve or an air filter. Hence, there are drawbacks, for example, that the number of the fabrication elements is large, and the fabrication performance is small. The present invention propose a solenoid valve fixing structure constructed as a module comprised of a solenoid valve, a check valve and an air filter. Namely a solenoid valve 10 and a check valve 8 are fixed onto a cover 3 of an air filter 1. The number of the fabrication elements can be reduced. The size of the apparatus can be made small, by using the module.

  • Patent number: 6114791
Abstract: In a motor for driving a fuel pump, each contact part of a commutator which slidingly contacts brushes is made of a carbon material. The carbon material is a mixture of natural carbon and amorphous carbon so that the contact part has a longer durability. The weight percentage of the amorphous carbon to be mixed is in the range of 5-30, most preferably about 20. The brush may also be made of a mixture of natural carbon and amorphous carbon.

  • Patent number: 6082984
Abstract: A fuel pump comprises a pump unit and a motor unit. The pump unit is a trochoid gear type having rotors in a pump chamber defined by a pair of side plates and a cylindrical housing. A disk plate is attached to the side plate to provide an arcuate-shaped pressure pulsation reducing passage jointly with the side plate. Protrusions or recesses are provided in the passage to cause turbulence in fuel flowing through the passage. This turbulence scatters pressure pulsation in the fuel thereby to reduce the pressure pulsation.

  • Patent number: 5595160
Abstract: In a fuel supply system, pressurized fuel is supplied to a delivery pipe from a fuel tank and distributed to fuel injection valves. The delivery pipe includes a main pipe in which upper and lower chambers are defined by a partition wall. One of the fuel injection valves is capable of receiving fuel from both the upper and lower chambers via a particular passage, while the other fuel injection valves are arranged to receive the fuel only from the lower chamber. Bubbles are supplied only to that one fuel injection valve and discharged therethrough. Accordingly, the other fuel injection valves can achieve the normal fuel injection even when the bubbles are present in the delivery pipe. It may be arranged that the partition wall may be omitted. It may further be arranged that the fuel supplied to the delivery pipe is prohibited from returning to the fuel tank and thus is all supplied to an engine via the fuel injection valves.
