  • Publication number: 20050011925
Abstract: A preload is applied to a wedge pressed in between a pair of spreaders by a preloading mechanism to press the spreaders against an inner surface of a joint hole defined in a larger end of a connecting rod. While the spreaders are pressed against the inner surface of the joint hole, a movable table with weights placed thereon is caused to drop into impingement against a flange coupled to an end of a shaft. The shaft is pulled downwardly to apply an impact load to the wedge, which is coupled to the shaft, in the direction in which the wedge is pressed in, thereby fracturing the larger end into a cap and a rod.

  • Patent number: 6801289
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal layer between a glass substrate and a counter substrate. A TFT and scanning lines which control the TFT are provided on the glass substrate. On the counter substrate, a gradation signal line which is connected to a counter electrode applying a voltage to the liquid crystal layer is provided opposite to the scanning lines. A sealing section for sealing the liquid crystal of the liquid crystal layer is provided while enclosing the display area between the glass substrate and the counter substrate. The sealing section has conductive particles. Upper contact pads connected to the gradation signal lines and lower contact pads on the glass substrate are electrically connected via the conductive particles. This realizes a liquid crystal display device with a smaller frame and makes the mounting compact in size without causing poor connection due to line breakage.

  • Publication number: 20040023128
Abstract: There exist a pattern-dense region where patterns having an F-letter shape are dense and a pattern-interspersed region where small rectangular dummy patterns are interspersed. In the pattern-interspersed region, the dummy patterns are arranged in a manner that at least one dummy pattern exists in a scan target range of a mask pattern defect inspecting apparatus. With the dummy patterns formed in the pattern-interspersed region at the intervals as described above, when one scan target range is scanned by the mask pattern defect inspecting apparatus, at least one dummy pattern is included in the scan target range in the pattern-interspersed region. Therefore, mix-up of alignment in this range is prevented from occurring, which makes it possible to perform proper defect inspection.

  • Publication number: 20030197691
Abstract: The invention concerns an input device including an input receiving panel and a stylus enabling an input, the input device sensing an input by means of capacitive coupling between a panel electrode on the input receiving panel and a stylus electrode on the stylus, and includes: a signal supply section supplying an input sensing signal to the panel electrode; a signal detecting circuit detecting a signal generated in the stylus electrode; and an input sensing section comparing the input sensing signal with the detection signal detected by the signal detecting circuit and sensing an input based on a result of the comparison. An input-sensing digital code is superimposed on the input sensing signal. This allows for further reduction in the possibility of false sensing caused by noise than conventional techniques.

  • Patent number: 6614416
Abstract: A wave A1 is used as a signal inputted to a liquid crystal panel via an operational amplifier OP. The wave A1 is a superimposed wave made up of, for example, a first rectangular wave to be the base of a driving signal and a second wave capable of increasing respective amplitudes of the first wave in rising and falling directions. Because a wave A3 is superimposed, using the wave A1 as the driving signal of the liquid crystal panel surely results in increase in a quantity of charges with which respective pixels of the liquid crystal panel are supplied at early stages of writing, more than simply applying the wave A2 to the liquid crystal panel.

  • Patent number: 6587161
Abstract: A pixel substrate has a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of reference signal lines which are arranged parallel with each other. A counter substrate includes a plurality of signal lines. Moreover, the pixel substrate has a connecting line for connecting the plurality of the reference signal lines to each other. The connecting line is provided in each of two regions outside of two sides among the peripheral sides of a region where a plurality of pixel electrodes are formed, the two sides being perpendicular to the reference signal lines. In this structure, a reference signal is input from both ends of the reference signal line. It is therefore possible to provide a liquid crystal display device which reduces the occurrence of a short circuit between the lines on the substrate and decreases the signal delay due to the load capacitance.

  • Patent number: 6570551
Abstract: As a method of driving a liquid crystal display device, the average voltage of reference line drive voltages Vcom for AC-driving a liquid crystal is set higher than the average voltage of signal line drive voltage V0. Moreover, when displaying a plurality of gray scales, the respective voltages are set so that the average voltage of the signal line drive voltages is lowered with a decrease in a voltage difference to be applied to the liquid crystal as an absolute value. In a liquid crystal display device of an opposing signal line structure, a high-quality image display is achieved by compensating for the non-symmetry of the transmissivity of the liquid crystal with respect to positive and negative drive voltages to prevent flickering and image persistence.

  • Publication number: 20030080951
Abstract: A display device is arranged in such a manner that rows on the screen on which pixel electrodes are provided in a matrix manner are sequentially selected so as to be scanned by scanning signal lines formed on a substrate, and a data signal is supplied from gray scale signal lines, which are formed on a counter substrate facing the substrate, to the pixel electrodes on the selected row, so that the display is carried out. Also, an idle period, (i) which is longer than a scanning period for scanning the screen once and (ii) during which period all scanning signal lines are in the state of non-scanning, is provided, and the scanning period and the idle period constitute one vertical period. With this arrangement, it is possible to (1) provide a driving method of a display device by which method the reduction of power consumption is sufficiently realized without causing the degradation of the display qualities, and (2) provide a display device using the same.
