  • Publication number: 20060064686
Abstract: Software and content used by the software are developed on a first computer system for use on a second computer system. Transferable forms of the developed software and content that may be used by the second computer system are created. The transferable form of the developed software is made available for transfer to the second computer system. The transferable form of the developed content is transferred to a content server that makes a transferable form of content used by software running on the second computer system available for receipt by the second computer system. The transferable form of the developed software from the first computer system and the transferable form of the content from the content server are received at the second computer system. The received software and content are translated into usable forms of the software and content that may be used by the second computer system.

  • Publication number: 20050087648
Abstract: In winding machines, known roll systems are used that contain a number of freely rotatable roll segments (3), which are situated next to one another face to face and mounted in a manner that enables them to move perpendicular to their rotation axis (4). According to the invention, the roll segments (3) are mounted so that only one respective face is mounted on a bearing journal (5), which is fastened in an interspaced manner to a bearing plate (6) that can move perpendicular to the rotation axis (4). An annular slot (15) is fashioned in at least one inner side of each bearing plate (6), and the end of a roll segment (3) can rotate without touching inside this annular slot.

  • Patent number: 6857791
Abstract: An optical device assembly includes an optical device. The optical device has an optical fiber led from the device with an anti-kink protector, and also a transmitting and/or receiving module having such an optical device. The anti-kink protector is made of a material and/or the anti-kink protector is sheathed with a material that is electrically conductive or highly absorbent to electromagnetic waves. The transmitting and/or receiving module is constructed in such a way that the anti-kink protector is disposed in the area of an opening of the module housing and at the same time is coupled electrically to the module housing. The electrical coupling of the electrically conductive anti-kink protector to the module housing results in a considerable reduction in the interference radiation that emerges.

  • Patent number: 6799158
Abstract: A characteristic identifier for digital data is generated. Thereby, the information contained in a digital data set is reduced such that the resulting identifier is made comparable to another identifier made in the same manner. The generated identifiers are used for detecting identical digital data or to determine inexact copies of digital data. In one embodiment of the invention, the digital data is a digital audio signal and the characteristic identifier is called an audio signature. The comparison of identical audio data according to the invention can be carried out without a person actually listening to the audio data. The present invention can be used to establish automated processes to find potential unauthorized copies of audio data, e.g., music recordings, and therefore enables a better enforcement of copyrights in the audio industry.

  • Publication number: 20040166734
Abstract: A housing-shaped shielding plate for shielding of an electrical component, in particular a radio-frequency, optoelectronic transceiver, is described. The housing-shaped shielding plate has a shielding plate body with a first region which lies inside a metallic structure, and with a second region which can be inserted through a cutout of the metallic structure and has an opening for coupling a connector. Accordingly, in the first region of the shielding plate body there are elongated slots, through which electromagnetic waves produced within the shielding plate body are specifically coupled out of the shielding plate.

  • Publication number: 20040120711
Abstract: An optical transmission system is provided in which the signals are transmitted at different wavelengths between terminals of a transmission network and only those signals are regenerated whose quality parameters require regeneration. A management system, when deciding about the location of regeneration, takes the design and the properties of the transmission network including the existing regeneration possibilities and the possible routing into consideration.

  • Patent number: 6659446
Abstract: In a device for reducing the frictional force between a guiding or carrying element for sheets in a sheet-processing machine, in particular rotary printing machines, guiding and carrying elements acted upon by throttled blowing air include a sheet surface, orifices fluidically connected to a hollow interior, and a throttle disposed in the hollow interior. The elements are to be connected to an air source for blowing air out through the orifices and for generating an air cushion between a sheet and the sheet surface. • Patent number: 6588746
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) for generating an offset (2) of transported flexible sheet material (3), especially sheets of paper, with a feeding and a discharging transport path section (5 and 7) and a transport path section (6) which is assigned to the offset generating means (10). These devices of the prior art often require a control, resetting of the offset generating means after each sheet of material (3) or they do not operate independently of format. The invention affords relief by the offset generating means (10) having at least two deflections (8, 9 or 8, 8′, 9, 9′) which are parallel, which work in opposite directions, and which can be moved to an angle (gamma) to the transport direction (4); this angle is measured in the plane of the feeding transport path section (5) and is not equal to 90° projected onto this plane.

  • Patent number: 6575617
Abstract: A static mixer includes profiled layers which are arranged in a ring space and which contain mutually crossing flow channels which are inclined relative to a central axis. A fluid mixture is to be transported in the axial direction in the presence of a mixing action. Each layer extends over a surface which forms a closed or largely closed periphery transverse to the axis. Each layer comprises equivalent channels which extend on an inner or outer side of the layer over at least approximately equally long distances from a first to a second cross-section of the ring space, so that each channel imposes an azimuthal velocity component onto the fluid mixture which flows through it which is substantially equally large for all equivalent channels.

  • Publication number: 20020132524
Abstract: The electrical module, in particular an optoelectronic transceiver, has a coupling region for connection of a plug connector. The coupling region projects out of a metallic structure, which surrounds a shielding housing, when the module is arranged on a printed circuit board in the shielding housing. The coupling region is composed of plastic. This prevents the coupling region from acting as an antenna and interference emissions, which are produced by radio-frequency signals in the module, from being emitted in an amplified manner.
