  • Publication number: 20020187784
Abstract: A method of triggering an IF or IS handover between two WCDMA carrier or a WCDMA carrier and a GSM carrier. Six triggering conditions are used to initiate the search for an alternative network connection by starting the handover measurements. These triggering conditions are: a) the mobile terminal TxPwr has exceeded its threshold value longer than a specified time; b) the connection based power in the downlink has exceeded its threshold value longer than a specified time; c) the mobile terminal TxPwr has reached the maximum value a specified number of times; d) the SIR target at the base station has risen above a specified threshold value over a period of time; e) the mobile terminal TxPwr has exceeded its threshold value and the gradient of the power control signature indicates sudden rise to maximum power level; and f) the pilot power measured at the mobile terminal has fallen below a threshold value for long than a specified time.

  • Publication number: 20020105927
Abstract: A method and system for inter-operator handover in a telecommunications network comprising a greenfield WCDMA operator and a GSM/WCDMA operator. When a mobile terminal of the greenfield operator is moving from the coverage area of the home network to the GSM/WCDMA area, a neighbor list of GSM cells is provided to the mobile terminal for handover to a GSM cell when the home network coverage is not available. When the mobile terminal is returning home from the GSM/WCDMA area, a neighbor list of the home cells is provided to the mobile terminal so that the greenfield mobile station is connected to its home network whenever there is coverage. Preferably, the neighbor lists are provided to the mobile terminal only in the connected mode.

  • Patent number: 6299473
Abstract: In order that, in the case of an electrical connector for establishing a connection to at least one conductor essentially arranged in a flexible foil, having a dielectric housing with a receptacle for the insertion of the flexible foil and of the at least one conductor, costs are reduced yet the quality of the said connector is improved, at least one contact pin for establishing electrical contact with the at least one conductor is provided, the contact pin exerting a force on the electrical conductor and/or the flexible foil, which force both ensures that the conductor bears mechanically on the contact pin, and ensures the provision of an electrical contact.

  • Patent number: 6050835
Abstract: An electrical connecting device for a component of a motor vehicle having an electrical functional group, in particular for a motor vehicle seat, comprising a first electrical connector associated with a chassis, a second electrical connector associated with the component adapted to be mated with the first electrical connector upon mounting the component in place on the motor vehicle. Such a device simplifies the mounting and installation of such motor vehicle components and increases the reliability and functional security of the electrical functional groups.

  • Patent number: 5944554
Abstract: An electrical connector is provided for terminating a flat flexible circuit which has at least one pin-receiving hole therein. The connector includes a dielectric housing. At least one conductive terminal is mounted on the housing and includes a projecting pin portion exposed on the housing. A circuit carrier is provided for receiving the flat flexible circuit. The carrier is mountable on the housing in a position for aligning the pin-receiving hole in the circuit with the pin portion of the terminal.

  • Patent number: 5489224
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a housing having a plurality of terminal-receiving passages extending between a forward mating end of the housing and a rear end thereof. A plurality of terminals are received in the passages. A terminal position assurance device is mounted on the housing for movement between first and second positions only when all of the terminals are properly positioned in their respective passages. A cover is securable to the housing over at least a portion of the rear end thereof. The terminal position assurance device has a portion which prevents securing the cover to the housing unless the terminal position assurance device is in its second position.

  • Patent number: 5273453
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly is provided for achieving positive latching in a fully mated condition. The assembly includes a first connector and a second connector. The first connector has at least one latch arm resiliently deflectable about two angularly aligned axes of deflection. The second connector includes a cam disposed for engagement with the latch arm during mating of the connectors and for deflecting the latch arm about a first of the two axes of deflection into a latching condition in response to full mating of the connectors. The second connector includes a housing for enclosing the latch arm inside the housing when the connectors are fully mated. Access is provided to the latch arm of the first connector from outside the housing of the second connector whereby the latch arm can be deflected about a second of the two axes of deflection to enable disengagement of the latch arm from the cam for facilitating unmating of the connector.
