  • Patent number: 10939320
Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamic access network slice switching and carrier aggregation include a radio access network (RAN) and user devices with dual radio user equipment. The RAN receives a 4G and a 5G service request from user equipment having a specified priority. A first RAN slice for the 4G and 5G service request is instantiated using a RAN scheduler. A temporary radio resource control protocol slice having an associated timer that allows the dual radio user equipment to stay connected to the RAN for a period of time is then instantiated. Instructions identifying an appropriate resource and RAN slice for complying with user plane service level agreement requirements are received at the RAN and a second RAN slice for instantiating a carrier aggregation slice comprising both the 4G and 5G radio resource control protocol request for complying with the user plane service level agreement requirement is engaged.

  • Patent number: 10587985
Abstract: Smart M2M devices may be utilized to discover, generate, develop, and use customer behavior information. Security, marketing, and sales may be made through the use of short-range communication mechanisms, and customer behavior information may be gathered while providing devices with product information and other content. In an example configuration, smart M2M devices may determine the location of a device in a venue and compare it to historical location information associated with the device to determine whether authentication should be requested.

  • Patent number: 10292003
Abstract: A first device may receive a location of a second device simply by sending a text message to the second device. The text message may comprise an identifier of the second device (e.g., phone number of the second device, mobile subsection identification number of the second device, etc.) and a location code. A communication network may intercept the text message. The communication network may analyze contents of the text message. The network may determine that the location code is valid and determine the location of the second device. The network may provide an indication of the location of the second device to the first device.

  • Patent number: 10264130
Abstract: A single visual voicemail communications session is established and used to provide various content to a visual voicemail client on a wireless device. Rather than requiring the establishment of multiple communications session in order to obtain messaging, multimedia, and other content types associated with a voicemail at a wireless device, all such content is obtained or accessed by a voicemail server and transmitted to the wireless device. The wireless device can provide visual voicemail client data to a voicemail server, enabling the voicemail server to modify content as needed so that it is compatible with the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 10028075
Abstract: An intelligent machine-to-machine (iM2M) device may collaborate with other devices to perform functions. An iM2M device may determine if it has the necessary resources to respond to a request. Upon determining that the resources needed to provide a response to the request are not available in the iM2M device, the iM2M device may negotiate with other devices in order to obtain a response to the request and/or resources to respond to the request. The other devices may send respective responses and/or resource back to the iM2M device. The iM2M device may, in turn, respond to the request.
