  • Publication number: 20160255201
Abstract: A single visual voicemail communications session is established and used to provide various content to a visual voicemail client on a wireless device. Rather than requiring the establishment of multiple communications session in order to obtain messaging, multimedia, and other content types associated with a voicemail at a wireless device, all such content is obtained or accessed by a voicemail server and transmitted to the wireless device. The wireless device can provide visual voicemail client data to a voicemail server, enabling the voicemail server to modify content as needed so that it is compatible with the wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20160219349
Abstract: A network includes a supervisory sensor in communication with a wireless network and a non-supervisory sensor in communication with the supervisory sensor, wherein the non-supervisory sensor communicates with the wireless network through the supervisory sensor. The supervisory sensor may be configured to receive downloads from a server communicating through the wireless network and to collect data from the non-supervisory sensor. The supervisory sensor may be configured to transmit the collected data to a server on the wireless network. Moreover, the non-supervisory sensor and the supervisory sensor each have an active state and an inactive state and wherein the supervisory sensor may be in the active state while the non-supervisory sensor is in the inactive state.

  • Patent number: 9313732
Abstract: A mobile device may be configured with multiple access point names (APNs) including a roaming APN and a non-roaming APN. After a mobile device determines whether it is roaming, it may transmit a service request with the corresponding APN. The network may then select a profile based on the APN that may include quality of service parameters and other parameters for servicing the mobile device. The profile may be obtained from a local home location register or a remote home location register.

  • Publication number: 20150271835
Abstract: A first network device in a network, such as an LTE network, configured to establish a default bearer between a node and the first network device. The first network device may transmit a first communication type between the first network device and the node over the a default bearer and receive a service request requesting the establishment of a dedicated bearer for the transmission of a second communication type between the first network device and the node, the service request requesting that the dedicated bearer have a quality of service higher than the quality of service of the default bearer. The first network device may transmit the second type of communication between the first network device and the node over the default bearer, establish the dedicated bearer, and then switch the transmission of the second type of communication from the default bearer to the dedicated bearer.

  • Patent number: 9119041
Abstract: A personal media storage system within a visual voicemail system may be implemented. A visual voicemail server may receive and store multimedia content on a personal media storage system and associate such content with a voicemail. A visual voicemail server may obtain such content if provided with location data for the content rather than the actual content. A visual voicemail client on a wireless device may transmit a request for content to the visual voicemail server, which may retrieve the content and send to the visual voicemail client using the communications link between the visual voicemail client and the visual voicemail server. The visual voicemail client may render the content within the client.

  • Patent number: 9084176
Abstract: A core network device may be configured to work with a radio access network device to determine whether to allow access to a network. Criteria that may be used to make the determination include the condition of devices and links within the core network and the radio access network, which may be determined by data received from other devices at the core network device. In another embodiment, the type of service requested, for example whether the request is for an IMS service or non-IMS service, may be used to evaluate whether the a request for access to the network should be permitted.

  • Publication number: 20150156604
Abstract: A first device may receive a location of a second device simply by sending a text message to the second device. The text message may comprise an identifier of the second device (e.g., phone number of the second device, mobile subsection identification number of the second device, etc.) and a location code. A communication network may intercept the text message. The communication network may analyze contents of the text message. The network may determine that the location code is valid and determine the location of the second device. The network may provide an indication of the location of the second device to the first device.
