Abstract: Minor tranquilizers preparable by known processes are represented by the following structural formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.o is hydrogen, halo of atomic weight of from 18 to 80, i.e. fluoro, chloro or bromo or alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms,R is halo of atomic weight of from 18 to 80, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or trifluoromethyl,R' is alkenyl of 3 to 6 carbon atoms, alkynyl of 3 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 3 to 8 carbon atoms, norbornyl, alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms substituted by cycloalkyl of 3 to 7 carbon atoms or --CH.sub.2 (F.sub.x ALK) wherein x is 1 to 3 and ALK is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms,R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3 are independently hydrogen or alkyl of 1 or 2 carbon atoms, andn is 0 or 1.

Abstract: This disclosure describes novel compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represent hydrogen, or ##STR2## and R.sub.3 is hydrogen or fluoro, andn is 1, 2 or 3, andprovided that one of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 is other than hydrogen which are useful as anti-obesity agents.

Abstract: Certain known pyrimido[2,1-a]isoindoles and diazepino[2,1-a]isoindoles, e.g., 7-(p-chlorophenyl)-7-hydroxy-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-7H-[1,3]-diazepino[2,1-a]i soindoles, are useful for inhibiting prolactin secretion.

Abstract: Ketone derivatives of 4,5-dihydro-3(2H)-pyridazinones of the formula ##STR1## where R.sub.1 is halo having an atomic weight of from 19 to 36, andR.sub.2 is a branched chain lower alkyl having 3 to 4 carbon atomsare useful as central nervous system depressants, in particular, as muscle relaxants.

Abstract: This disclosure describes novel compounds of the formula: ##STR1## where A is --CH.sub.2 OH or ##STR2## wherein R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 each independently represent hydrogen or lower alkyl having 1 to 2 carbon atoms or together with N represent ##STR3## and, R.sub.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl having 1 to 2 carbon atoms, andR.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each independently represent hydrogen, chloro, fluoro, methyl, methoxy or together, represent methylenedioxy, andn is 1 or 2, provided that one of R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is other than hydrogen which are useful as hypolipidemic agents.

Abstract: Certain substituted or unsubstituted 2-phenylbenzimidazoles, e.g., 1-methyl-2-phenylbenzimidazole, are useful as anti-obesity agents.

Abstract: Dibenz[c,f]imidazo[1,2-a][1]azepin-9-ols of the general formula ##STR1## where R.sub.1 represents H or mono or di-chloro or fluoro, andR.sub.2 represents H, chloro, fluoro, alkyl of 1-3 carbon atoms, e.g., methyl, ethyl or isopropyl, alkoxy of 1-3 carbon atoms, e.g., methoxy or ethoxy, or trifluoromethyl,prepared by borohydride hydrogenation of the corresponding 9-ones are useful as anti-convulsant agents.

Abstract: Imidazo[2,1-a]isoquinolines useful as anorexics and antidepressants are prepared from a dilithium derivative of a 2-(o-tolyl)-2-imidazoline.

Abstract: Hydroxyalkyl and aryl or heterocyclic substituted-4,5-dihydropyridazin(2H)-3-ones and diazabicyclo-ene-ones e.g., 6-(p-chlorophenyl)-2-(2-hydroxybutyl)-4,5-dihydropyridazin(2H)-3-one are prepared by condensing 1-hydrazino-2-alkanols with aryl or heterocyclic-.gamma.-keto acids and are useful as central nervous system depressants.

Abstract: Substituted spiro[isoindoline-1,3'(4'H)-isoquinoline]-1',3-diones, e.g., 2,2'-dimethyl spiro[isoindoline-1,3'(4'H)-isoquinoline]-1',3-dione, are prepared by cyclizing .alpha.-(1-hydroxy-3-oxoisoindolin-1-yl)-o-toluamides and are useful as non-estrogenic anti-fertility agents.

Abstract: Imidazo[2,1-a]isoquinolines useful as anorexics and antidepressants are prepared from a dilithium derivative of a 2-(o-tolyl)-2-imidazoline.

Abstract: Imidazo[2,1-a]isoquinolines useful as anorexics and anti-depressants, e.g. 5-(2-thienyl)-2,3,5,6-tetrahydroimidazo[2,1-a]isoquinolin-5-ol, are prepared from a dilithium derivative of a 2-(o-tolyl)-2-imidazoline.

Abstract: 10-(2-substituted-aminoethyl)-10,11-dihydro-5-methylene-2 or 3 7 or 8-substituted or unsubstituted-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cycloheptenes e.g., 10-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)-10,11-dihydro-5-methylene-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclohe ptene, prepared by various methods including acid dehydration of the corresponding dibenzo[a,d]cycloheptene-5-ols. The compounds are useful as anti-depressants.

Abstract: 2-Sec.-alkylaminobenzophenones are prepared by reacting a corresponding 2-aminobenzophenone with a ketone, a borohydride and carboxylic acid.

Abstract: Imidazo isoindoles, e.g. 5-(p-chlorophenyl)-5-hydroxy-2,3-dihydro-5H-imidazo[2,1a]isoindol, may be prepared by treating a corresponding 2-benzoyl benzoic acid with a substituted ethylene diamine, and treating a resulting intermediate first with concentrated acid and then with base. The products are active as anorexic agents.

Abstract: Substituted and unsubstituted ethanodibenzoindoles, for example, 3-chloro-1-methyl-1,2-dihydro-6,10b-ethanodibenzo[cd,g] indole, are prepared by cyclizing and reducing N-naphthylbenzamides and are useful as anti-inflammatory agents.
