Publication number: 20240137931Abstract: A method for an access point to schedule obtaining frames from stations connected thereto is provided. Real-time applications provide frames and frame due dates to the stations. The frames and their due dates are stored in respective buffers of the stations. Each station identifies the earliest due date of all its buffered frames and provides the earliest due date to the access point. The access point orders the due dates and schedules the stations according to the order of the due dates. The access point then communicates with the stations according to the schedule and obtains the frames. A WLAN system implementing the method is also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2022Publication date: April 25, 2024Applicant: HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.Inventors: Osama ABOUL-MAGD, Jung Hoon SUH, Yan XIN, Kwok Shum AU

Publication number: 20240040642Abstract: According to a first aspect of the disclosure, methods are discussed in which a station (STA) sends a message to an access point, for example an associated access point, about a change in multi-AP coordination parameters. A STA, which may be a mobile STA, can be in a better position than the APs themselves, for detecting changes in conditions which can affect the effectiveness, or even the desirability of the multi-AP coordination. Accordingly the STA can send a message reporting detected conditions related to multi-AP coordination. In some embodiments, such a message can request for initializing multi-AP coordination, such a message can be in response to a triggering event detected by the STA. In response to such a triggering event, the STA can analyze the STA's service needs, and send the message about a change in multi-AP coordination parameters. A second aspect of the disclosure provides an AP-to-AP negotiation process for multi-AP coordination.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2022Publication date: February 1, 2024Applicants: HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CANADA CO., LTD., THE UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN ONTARIOInventors: Wudan HAN, Xianbin WANG, Osama ABOUL-MAGD, Yan XIN, Jung Hoon SUH, Kwok Shum AU

Patent number: 11881870Abstract: A low-density parity-check (LDPC) code encoding method and a communication apparatus are described that provide increased redundant bits through retransmission in an IR-HARQ mechanism, so as to decrease a channel coding rate, and improve decoding performance of an LDPC code. A check matrix of the LDPC code is used as a basic matrix, and the basic matrix is extended to obtain a mother matrix compatible with a plurality of code rates. During LDPC encoding, a transmit device reads, from the mother matrix, a check matrix corresponding to a required code rate, and performs LDPC encoding on an information bit sequence based on the read check matrix. LDPC encoding is performed on the information bit sequence by using check matrices of different sizes, to obtain different quantities of redundant bits.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2022Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.Inventors: Guido Montorsi, Sergio Benedetto, Wei Lin, Yan Xin

Patent number: 11876538Abstract: A convolutional code rate matching method and a communication apparatus are provided. A puncturing pattern of a second codeword at a second code rate is obtained based on a puncturing pattern of a first codeword at a first code rate. A second puncturing location set of the second codeword is a subset of a first puncturing location set of the first codeword. When a transmit device decreases a code rate from the first code rate to the second code rate, a redundant bit is sent at a location of a complementary set of the second puncturing location set relative to the first puncturing location set. Compared with the first puncturing location set, the second puncturing location set may obtain more incremental redundant bits, to decrease a channel encoding rate. This can improve decoding performance of a convolutional code.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2022Date of Patent: January 16, 2024Assignee: HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.Inventors: Guido Montorsi, Sergio Benedetto, Wei Lin, Yan Xin, Ming Gan
