  • Patent number: 8523683
Abstract: A video game apparatus includes a CPU, the CPU detects marker coordinates data included in input data transmitted from a controller, and calculates indicated coordinates of the controller. A star object indicated by the controller is set as a target object by a player pressing a B-trigger switch. Then, a player object executes a processing according to the target object. For example, when the player continues to press the B-trigger switch, the player object is moved to approach the target object.

  • Publication number: 20130120917
Abstract: An acceleration sensor detects an acceleration. A timer measures elapsed time. A calculation means calculates jerk J of a remote controller on the basis of an acceleration detected by the acceleration sensor. A factor determination means determines whether a user is holding the remote controller in his/her hand on the basis of the change of the jerk J that is obtained from an index value calculated by the calculation means and an amount of time measured by the timer. A sleep control means turns on display of a display if the factor determination means determines that the user is holding the remote controller in his/her hand.

  • Publication number: 20130057468
Abstract: Unit data, which constitutes digital data is extracted as 8-bit units of parallel data by a control section and outputted to a buffer. Thereafter, in a process where the unit data is transmitted from a serial interface to a display unit, the unit data is converted to parallel data in a format required by the display unit. Thereby, it becomes unnecessary for the control section to perform processing of converting the digital data to a format required by the display unit. Consequently, the load on the control section is reduced.

  • Patent number: 8302875
Abstract: An air conditioning equipment having an in-room unit connected to one end of the refrigerant pipes and an out-room unit connected to the other end of the refrigerant pipes. The air conditioning equipment includes signal coupling portions which are respectively disposed at both end parts of the refrigerant pipes. Each of the signal coupling portions couples an alternating current (AC) control signal to the refrigerant pipes and exhibits a predetermined impedance with respect to an AC electric signal. The configuration of the air conditioning equipment brings forth the advantages that the electrical insulation devices used in the prior art are dispensed with, and the signal transmissions between the in-room unit and the out-room unit can be performed by a simple apparatus configuration.

  • Publication number: 20120196681
Abstract: A game system is composed by connecting a game apparatus with a monitor and a percussion type controller. A game player beats a first beating operation surface or a second beating operation surface to input an operation signal from the controller to the game apparatus. In the game apparatus, in response to the operation signal, a player character in a virtual world displayed on the monitor is moved in a left or a right direction. Furthermore, when a sound, input by clapping and so on in the vicinity of a microphone of the controller, is present, the game apparatus generates a shock wave from a position of the player character. By the shock wave, a predetermined change occurs, such as returning an enemy character to its initial position, gathering fairies in a form of block, and so forth.

  • Publication number: 20120120092
Abstract: The display color of, for example, a button image responsive to a command input into a facility operation display device is controlled by a palette value having a smaller number of bits than an RGB value. When the display color of the button image is changed, the palette value of a drawing object associated with the button image is changed to an RGB value. This eliminates the necessity of incorporating, for example, a high-performance CPU as a central arithmetic unit. In addition, it is not necessary to pre-store images corresponding to several kinds of display colors specified by RGB values, to thereby eliminates the necessity of incorporating, for example, a high-capacity storage medium in the facility operation display device. Accordingly, the device cost can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20120032907
Abstract: As for a position input apparatus that, when a user applies a pressure to an operation area, determines a pressed position where the pressure is applied, the manufacturing cost of the position input apparatus is reduced. An operation plate is a flat plate having the operation area on one surface. A plurality of pressure sensors (pressure detection devices) detect, at respectively different pressure detection positions, a detection position pressure generated by the pressure applied to the pressed position. A pressed position determination device determines the pressed position, based on a plurality of detection position pressures detected by the plurality of pressure sensors.

  • Publication number: 20110212779
Abstract: An inclination of a first unit is detected based on an output from a first acceleration sensor provided in a first unit of a controller, and an inclination of a second unit is detected based on an output from a second acceleration sensor provided in a second unit separate from the first unit. A difference between the inclinations of the first unit and the second unit is detected, and game control is performed using the detected difference. Thus, with a game apparatus using a plurality of acceleration sensors or a plurality of sensors capable of detecting a motion or a posture, a dynamic play is made possible with a high degree of freedom of motion and an intuitive motion input is realized.
