  • Patent number: 11909013
Abstract: A display system includes an instrument panel and an ECU for controlling the instrument panel so that the instrument panel displays an indication related to a battery. The ECU controls the instrument panel so that the instrument panel continuously displays a second indication. The ECU also controls instrument panel so that instrument panel does not display a first indication when a predetermined condition does not hold true, and displays the first indication when the predetermined condition holds true, the predetermined condition being a condition that a display-related user operation has been performed. The first indication can be prevented from being mistaken as the second indication, without requiring a display-related user operation.

  • Publication number: 20230324467
Abstract: A battery has an SOC-OCV characteristic having a flat region. When a stage change detecting unit detects an occurrence of stage change during traveling of an electrified vehicle, a discharge current integrating unit calculates a discharge current integrated amount. When external charging is started, a charge current integrating unit calculates a charge current integrated amount until the battery is fully charged. A full charge capacity calculating unit calculates a full charge capacity based on a storage amount at a time of the stage change, the discharge current integrated amount, and the charge current integrated amount.

  • Publication number: 20230251322
Abstract: ECU evaluates high-rate degradation of a lithium-ion battery, using a score and an in-plane score. The score is an index for evaluating unevenness in salt concentration of an electrode body in a lamination direction of the electrode body. The in-plane score is an index for evaluating unevenness in salt concentration of the electrode body in an in-plane direction of the electrode body. For each computing cycle, ECU calculates a current score, and calculates a current in-plane score based on an SOC (State Of Charge) of the lithium-ion battery. When the absolute value of an in-plane integrated score is beyond a reference value, ECU evaluates the high-rate degradation based on the current score, the current in-plane score, and a degradation score which is obtained by integrating previous scores beyond a deadband. When the absolute value is below the reference value, ECU evaluates the high-rate degradation, based on the degradation score.

  • Patent number: 11624783
Abstract: A battery diagnosis apparatus includes an SOC calculator, a ?SOC obtaining unit, a largest block identification unit, and a diagnosis unit. The SOC calculator calculates an SOC for each parallel cell block included in a battery assembly based on an output from a battery sensor that detects a state of the battery assembly. When charging or discharging of the battery assembly is carried out, the ?SOC obtaining unit obtains ?SOC for each parallel cell block. The largest block identification unit identifies a largest block in a diagnosis target. When a degree of deviation between ?SOC of the largest block and a ?SOC reference value exceeds a prescribed level, the diagnosis unit determines that abnormality has occurred in the largest block in the diagnosis target.

  • Patent number: 11541779
Abstract: A vehicle includes: an engine; an exhaust pipe through which exhaust gas from the engine is released; a battery pack located near the exhaust pipe; and an ECU that executes, during limp-home traveling of the vehicle, control in which the battery pack is not charged and discharged, and output suppression control in which output of the engine is suppressed. In the output suppression control, when the catalyst temperature is above a threshold value, the ECU suppresses the output of the engine, as compared to when the catalyst temperature is below the threshold value, while maintaining a state in which the engine can output power.

  • Patent number: 11535121
Abstract: An ECU switches a control mode to an HV mode when an SOC decreases to a lower limit during an EV mode. The ECU calculates an evaluation value ?D of high-rate deterioration indicating a deterioration component of a secondary battery due to non-uniformity in salt concentration in a battery. The ECU executes high-rate deterioration inhibiting control when the HV mode is currently selected and when the battery is evaluated as deteriorating based on the evaluation value ?D, the high-rate deterioration inhibiting control being control for increasing the SOC by making a control target of the SOC higher than the lower limit of the SOC. On the other hand, the ECU does not execute the high-rate deterioration inhibiting control when the EV mode is currently selected.
