CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of U.S. provisional application No. 61/825,339, filed May 20, 2013, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to hair accessories and, more particularly, to a hair accessory with hair attachments.

Women with thinning hair look for ways to quickly and inexpensively fill in their hair and achieve bangs and length without the time, difficulty and expense of hair extensions or wigs. Human hair wigs are expensive due to the amount of human hair and the labor and manufacturing time. In warmer weather, these wigs are hot and uncomfortable. Hair extensions are expensive and require installation and maintenance from professionals.

As can be seen, there is a need for a hair accessory with a hair attachment that requires less time to manufacture, less human hair and requires no professional installation or maintenance which will be more cost effective for the user.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, a hair accessory comprises: a head band comprising a front end and a back end; bangs attached to the front end of the hair band; and at least one length of hair attached to the back end of the hair band.

In another aspect of the present invention, a method for filling in hair while achieving bangs and length in hair comprises: placing a hair accessory securely on a head of a user, wherein the hair accessory comprises a head band comprising a front end and a back end; bangs attached to the front end of the hair band; and at least one length of hair attached to the back end of the hair band;

combing the bangs and the hair into natural hair of the user; and blending the natural hair with the bangs and hair of the hair accessory.

These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a hair accessory that may include a head band comprising a front end and a back end. At least one length of bangs may be attached to the front end of the hair band. At least one length of hair may attach to the back end of the hair band. A user may place the hair accessory on their head and comb through the hair accessory and their natural hair to provide a blended, fully look to their hair.

As is illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 11, a hair accessory may include a head band 10. The head band 10 may include an area where decorative items 16 may be removably attached. The head band 10 may have a front end 30 and a back end 32. Along the head band 10 may be at least one front attachment point 26 and at least one back attachment point 28.

In certain embodiments, attached to the front end 30 of the head band 10 may be at least one length of bangs. The at least one length of bangs may be in a long bang embodiment 12, a short bang embodiment 18, a medium bang embodiment 22, or the like. In certain embodiments, attached to the back end 32 of the head band 10 may be at least one length of hair. The at least one length of hair may be in a long hair embodiment 14, a short hair embodiment 20, a medium hair embodiment 24 or the like.

A method of making the hair accessory may comprise the following steps: fabricating a head band 10 with at least one front attachment point 26 running along the front end 30 of the head band 10 and at least one back attachment point 28 running along the back end 32 of the head band for attaching the at least one length of hair and the at least one length of bangs. In certain embodiments, attachment methods may be used such as weave, clip, glue or the like in attaching the at least one length of hair and at least one length of bangs to the head band 10 of the present invention. In certain embodiments, the at least one length of hair may be human hair. In alternate embodiments, the at least one length of hair may be made with synthetic hair, non-human hair and the like. In certain embodiments, the at least one length of hair and at least one length of bangs may be of differing colors, thicknesses and lengths of material to allow for changing the look of the present invention without purchasing multiple accessories. In certain embodiments, the at least one length of hair may be a set length that the user may cut to a desired length. In certain embodiments, the hair accessory may be purchased with various set lengths, such as a long length, a medium length, a short length and the like. In certain embodiments, the at least one length of bangs may be a length of approximately twelve inches initially. The user may cut the bangs to the desired length. The at least one length of hair may be of any length. In certain embodiments, a long hair embodiment 14 may have a length of approximately eighteen to twenty inches. In certain embodiments, a medium hair embodiment 24 may have a length of approximately ten to twelve inches. In certain embodiments, a short hair embodiment 20 may have a length of approximately five to eight inches.

A method of using the hair accessory may include the following. A user may place the hair accessory securely on their head and comb the at least one length of bangs and the at least one length of hair into their natural hair of the user, blending the natural hair with the at least one length of bangs and hair of the hair accessory. The user may cut the hair and at least one length of bangs to a desired length. The at least one length of hair and at least one length of bangs from the hair accessory may allow for the complete coverage of hair over the head of the user integrating the natural hair of the user to create a finished look.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
