Patent number: 4706353Abstract: A method for and an apparatus for assembly of rotating ring rotary compressors is disclosed. A cylinder, shaft, roller and supports are initially assembled together, fixing means being kept in a slackened position. A preliminary centering operation is then carried out for bringing the axis of the shaft into a diametral plane of the cylinder constituting a predetermined reference plane. This operation is carried out by orientation of the shaft into two angular positions spaced from each other by 180.degree.. The shaft is then oriented relative to the cylinder, the region of maximum eccentricity of the core being brought into the said reference plane. The support and the cylinder (this latter with the interposition of the roller) are then pressed onto the shaft by a thrust exerted in the said predetermined plane.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1986Date of Patent: November 17, 1987Assignee: Aspera S.r.l.Inventors: Marek Zgliczynski, Giancarlo Sesona

Patent number: 4706378Abstract: In one embodiment of a vertical bipolar transistor constructed in accordance with the teachings of this invention, oxygen is implanted into the vertical bipolar transistor to provide a silicon dioxide layer between the base and collector of the vertical bipolar transistor. This silicon dioxide layer reduces the actual interface area of the base to collector junction, thereby decreasing the capacitance of the base-collector junction. In addition, the dielectric constant of the silicon dioxide layer is such that the capacitance across the silicon dioxide layer, and thus between the base and collector, is minimal relative to the base to collector capacitance provided by the base to collector junction itself. In an alternative embodiment, nitrogen is implanted to form silicon nitride regions rather than silicon dioxide regions.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1985Date of Patent: November 17, 1987Assignee: Texas Instruments IncorporatedInventor: Robert H. Patent number: 4706390Abstract: A dehydrator for fluent materials includes a pulse combustor and a cyclone separator having a cylindrical cyclone chamber and a central gas discharge tube. The pulse combustor has a finned tail pipe which is contained within a casing disposed generally tangentially to a cylindrical wall of the cyclone chamber. Material to be dried is introduced into the tail pipe and is discharged in a spiral pattern that flows downwardly around the gas discharge tube. Material in the gas stream falls into a collection hopper below the cyclone chamber. Gases leave through the gas discharge tube. In an alternative embodiment, a simpler dried material collection chamber is used.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1986Date of Patent: November 17, 1987Assignee: John A. Kitchen Ltd.Inventor: John A. Patent number: 4706391Abstract: In a papermaking machine comprising a drying section wherein a hood covers a series of dryer drums supported by the frame, the dryer drums convey an endless felt supporting a continuous sheet of pulp to be dried. At least one heat collector is provided for collecting high quality heat generated and concentrated in the immediate vicinity of the dryer drums. The heat collector defines an enclosure having bases, sides and ends wherein one of the bases is constituted by a plurality of the dryer drums. The heat collector also contains an exhaust system to separately evacuate the high quality heat collected within the heat collector from the low quality heat collected by the hood covering the dryer drums. The heat collector is preferably constituted of fabric material and the heat separately evacuated therefrom is recycled elsewhere in the plant to supply or release additional energy.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1986Date of Patent: November 17, 1987Inventor: John C. Patent number: 4706394Abstract: A replaceable retention system for mounting golf spikes, cleats, and the like to the bottom of a shoe sole including a transverse plate and a holder. The holder is adapted to be insertable into a prepared cavity in the sole of the shoe and also includes an interior thread for receiving the threaded shank of a spike. The plate slidably engages structure in the holder which supports the plate in a transverse orientation to the interior thread of the holder whereby the threaded shank of the spike contacts and secures the plate in this arrangement. By this configuration, the plate may be inserted between the lower and upper layers of the sole for securely retaining the holder in position within the cavity in the lower layer of the sole. The removal and replacement of the plate, holders and spikes is thus facilitated by this invention.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1986Date of Patent: November 17, 1987Inventor: Stanley J. Regula
