  • Patent number: 5735015
Abstract: A wiper assembly has an arm head which reciprocates with respect to a center line of a wiper arm by receiving motive force from a reciprocating rod. An elastic component is coaxially provided proximate to the center of rotation. When the coefficient of friction between the wiper blade and the windshield surface is inversely proportional to the speed of the wiper blade causing self-induced vibration in certain circumstances, the wiper blade tends to screech, skip or chatter across the windshield surface. Such vibration is suppressed by the elastic component, thereby permitting smooth reciprocal motion of the wiper assembly.

  • Patent number: 5735017
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner for cleaning a surface is disclosed. The vacuum cleaner comprises a main housing including a tank chamber, a motor-blower assembly for creating a vacuum, a recovery tank disposed within the tank chamber for storing contaminated liquid, a supply tank for providing cleaning liquid, a hose assembly and a fluid pump. The fluid pump pumps fluid from the supply tank onto a surface to be cleaned. The vacuum pump creates a vacuum across the recovery tank assembly and hose assembly to vacuum up dispensed cleaning fluid into the recovery tank assembly. Preferably, the supply tank may be a flexible bladder disposed within the recovery tank. The flexible bladder contracts as liquid is dispensed so that the volume for storing contaminated liquid within the recovery tank assembly increases. Preferably, the recovery tank may be removed from the main housing and a vacuum bag is fluidly connected between the hose assembly and the motor-blower assembly for dry vacuuming.

  • Patent number: 5735018
Abstract: An improved blower for moving debris on a surface is provided. The blower includes a frame mounted on wheels and a motor mounted to the frame. A blower housing with an inlet opening and a discharge chute is also mounted to the frame. A fan is located in the blower housing and is drivingly connected to the motor to generate an air flow having a predetermined volumetric flow. An adjustable height, pivotable deflector is mounted in the discharge chute to split the air flow into upper and lower portions. The deflector is pivotable from a first, downwardly inclined position, to concentrate the lower portion of the air flow along the surface to create a lifting force for lifting and moving the debris while the upper portion of the air flow moves the debris outwardly, to a second position, in which the pivotable deflector is upwardly inclined to create an expanded air flow profile. The deflector height is adjustable to adjust the volumetric flow of the upper and lower portions.

  • Patent number: 5735020
Abstract: The disclosed invention is directed to a torsion spring counterbalance assembly for closures, preferably for aircraft doors, although it is applicable to closures in other environments. The counterbalance system is designed to reduce the total assembly weight by 50% relative to a steel spring assembly. A helical torsion spring is mounted on one or both sides of a support housing, the springs preferably being made of a fiber-reinforced epoxy. Duplicate springs (same part number, wound and loaded in the same direction) may be used on the left and/or the right sides of the assembly to reduce tooling cost and part inventory cost. Operating with duplicate springs is accomplished by placing fixed spring mounting plates for both springs on the left and the rotating end plates for both springs on the right. Both fixed end plates mount to the housing assembly while both rotating end plates mount to the torque output shaft. Similarly, end plates, torque tubes and shock support tubes, bearings, clips, e.g.

  • Patent number: 5735021
Abstract: A snap stud assembly is provided for pivotally connecting two hardware members together. A stud is disposed within a tubular sleeve. A lower or bottom end of the stud is attached to a lower hardware member by pressing or deforming the bottom end of the stud member to provide an interference fit. The upper hardware member is mounted over a top end of the plastic sleeve which includes a top flange but which is resiliently compressible in the radially inward direction so that the top hardware member may be easily forced over the top end of the plastic sleeve. Once installed, the upper hardware member is disposed between a top flange and a bottom flange of the plastic sleeve which serves as a bushing about which the top member pivots as well as a washer between the top hardware member and bottom hardware member.

  • Patent number: 5735025
Abstract: An ergonomic snap hook that employs a recessed release to prevent undesirable unfastening. The snap hook uses a redundant locking gate that must be operated in a predetermined sequence to permit latch opening. Once the latch is opened, a rope or the like may be inserted into the hook to secure the user thereto. The snap hook is fastened to a supporting belt or strap which, in turn, is connectable, by the hook, to a body belt worn by the linemen. A spring biased, recessed gate prevents latch movement until the gate is released. Preferably, the gate mounts opposite of the latch. To unfasten the latch, the user first depresses the gate to align a follower on the latch with a slot opening on the gate. Subsequent follower movement along the slot coincides with latch release. The followers on the latch clean the slots on the gate as they move along them. The latch may then be opened by applying an appropriate pressure or force against the latch biasing spring. The gate may be easily manipulated with one hand.

Abstract: In a mowing nylon cutter comprising a nylon cord, the nylon cord holds agricultural chemicals. The nylon cord is formed, for example, in such a manner that a nylon and a crystal technical product of agricultural chemicals are mixed and the mixture is extruded. When this nylon cutter is used, the agricultural chemicals held in the nylon cutter directly contact with and adhere to stalks remaining after the weeds are mowed simultaneously with the mowing of weed. Namely, the agricultural chemicals can be applied effectively simultaneously with mowing.
