Abstract: This invention discloses a vertical DMOS transistor cell formed in a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type with a top surface and a bottom surface. The vertical DMOS transistor cell includes a trenched gate comprising polysilicon filling a trench opened from the top surface disposed substantially in a middle portion of the cell. The DMOS transistor cell further includes a source region of the first conductivity type surrounding the trenched gate near the top surface of the substrate. The DMOS transistor cell further includes a body region of a second conductivity type encompassing the source region. The body region extends vertically toward the bottom surface of the substrate having a depth slightly lower than a bottom of the trenched gate. The body region surrounding the trenched gate and further laterally extends with a small distance under the bottom of the trenched gate to cover all areas adjacent to bottom corners of the trenched gate.

Abstract: An improved pull-up transistor is provided for use as an open drain input/output structure. The transistor includes a source and a drain that define a channel between them. An impurity implantation region in the channel does not reach both the source and the drain. The impurity can reach only the source, only the drain, or none of them. As such, it presents a discontinuity, which serves as a p-type channel. The transistor therefore can act as an enhancement transistor used for pull-up. The invention can be implemented with a mask ROM embedded MCU, or an EPROM embedded MCU.

Abstract: A dual-die integrated circuit package having two integrated circuit chips “flip chip” attached to each other and with one of the chips being aligned at a specified angle in relation to the other chip to allow access to bonding pads on the surface of each chip for wirebonding connection into the chip package. In a first embodiment, the two chips are rectangular in shape and are aligned at an angle of 90 degrees with respect to each other, thus allowing the end portions of the bottom chip to be accessible for connection into the chip package. Other embodiments maintain the chips at angles of less than 90 degrees, such that corner portions of each chip are accessible for connection into the chip package. The invention allows two identically constructed chips to be used for doubling or even greater multiplication of the functionality or memory of the IC package, while still using the same package footprint as for a single chip.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement in a multilayered electronic circuit. In a transition between two planar transmission lines, a compensating element is used to keep the average capacitance per length unit more constant during the transition. A via conductor the passes near an edge of a planar conductor pattern, the via conductor and the planar conductor having a mutual capacitive coupling within a predetermined range. A compensating conductor is formed between the planar conductor and the via conductor, which conductor is connected to the planar conductor by a compensating via. If the segment of the via conductor which belongs to the same via hole pattern as the compensating via is displaced, the compensating via is also displaced. The compensating planar pattern is then disconnected from the planar conductor. This improves yield in a given multilayer process.

When a toe board 2b is deformed toward a passenger's room at the vehicle front collision, then a frame member 7 forming an energy absorbing unit 5 for the footrest 3 begins to be deformed on compression. In the member's deformation, a front-inclined leg part 9F of the member 7 on the side of the passenger's toe yields ahead of others firstly. Thus, the compressive deformation is successively transmitted from the frame member's part on the side of the passenger's toe to the same part on the side of the passenger's heel frame member 7, so that collision energy can be absorbed to moderate an impact exerted on the passenger's foot F. Additionally, since the foot F is moved obliquely upward of the toe board 2b by the prior deformation of the part 9F, it is possible to restrain the passenger's ankle from bending backward.

Each tread member in each row has an outer edge area adjacent the outer edge of the body and an inner edge area terminating substantially at mid-section of the body. Each tread member of the first row is longitudinally offset relative to an adjacent tread member of the second row. Each inner edge area of the tread members is in vertical alignment with a corresponding one of the guide members of the inner surface of the body. This particular geometry of tread members and drive members is such as to reduce slitting damages to the track when driven.

Abstract: The I/O bracket retainer of the present invention is a unitary structure that provides excellent EMI shielding without the requirement of an additional gasket layer. EMI leakage is minimized by providing an I/O bracket retainer surface, typically stainless steel, that conforms to the surface of the I/O bracket retainer and I/O panel, thus minimizing seams formed due to small differences in the planarities of the I/O bracket retainer and I/O panel. EMI leakage is further reduced by providing firm contact between the surfaces of the I/O bracket retainer and I/O panel to minimize seam formation between these parts. Firm contact is provided in part by a first positioning tab and spring finger which extend from a sidewall of the structure to the front panel of the I/O bracket retainer. The front panel of the I/O bracket retainer is designed for receiving and securing an I/O panel.

On the carcass rail (1) is positioned a differential roller (9), which allows the intermediate rail (25) to be moved along, when the drawer starts to be pulled out, at a lower speed than the drawer and the drawer rail (45). A coupling lever (55) ensures that the intermediate rail (25) is still pulled along even when the drawer rail (45) has already left the differential roller (9) and that this happens synchronously.

Abstract: An electronically commutated motor (4) has a stator (14) with two winding phases (25, 26) which are alternatingly supplied with current during one rotor rotation through 360° cl. The motor also has a permanent-magnet rotor (28) which, when the motor (4) is currentless, assumes at least one predefined rotational position from which the rotor starts in a desired rotation direction upon excitation of a predefined winding phase. A bistable multivibrator (64), which is controlled by the voltage that is induced by the rotor in the instantaneously currentless winding phase, is provided for alternatingly switching on the two winding phases. The bistable multivibrator (64) has an electrical preferred position (92) that it assumes when the motor (4) is switched on, in order to supply power, during the switching-on operation, to the predefined winding phase and thereby to allow the rotor to start in the desired rotation direction.
