Abstract: A pressure control valve under the control of a pilot pressure generates a working pressure for a pressure-actuated apparatus. The valve has a control piston with two piston elements of different diameter. A working-pressure chamber is confined between the two piston elements, and a pilot-pressure chamber is confined between one of the control-piston elements and an additional piston. The additional piston takes a position dependent on a momentarily existing difference between the working pressure and the pilot pressure and, through an elastic force-coupler device, applies a position-dependent force to the control piston.

The door includes a drum positioned proximate the top of the opening, a flexible door panel connected to the drum and a drip guard. The door panel is attached to the drum such that when the door assembly is in an open position the door panel is wound around the drum. The drip guard partially surrounds the drum and is positioned and sized to catch residue falling from the drum or door panel overhead. The door panel is sized such that in the closed position the door panel is connected to a point on the drum so that the panel does not significantly overlap the drum. The door further includes columns on opposed sides of the opening and surrounding the guides.

Abstract: A press device having an extended press nip for pressing a running paper or paperboard web, comprising a carrier supporting a press shoe via a plurality of loading cylinders, out of which at least a few comprise a first cylinder member having a first end attached to or integrated in the press shoe, and a second cylinder member having a second end attached to or integrated in the carrier. The first and the second cylinder members are slidably coupled to each other by a coupling member, wherein the coupling member and the first cylinder member are displaceable in relation to each other with a first length of stroke, while the coupling member and the second cylinder member are displaceable in relation to each other with a second length of stroke. The coupling member is designed so that the first length of stroke runs closer to the carrier than the second length of stroke.

Abstract: A preform for use in a metal matrix composite, particularly for a magnesium metal composite, and a metal matrix composite, typically made by squeeze casting, using the preform. In the preform the reinforcing material typically is silicon carbide, boron nitride, carbon or graphite. The binder used in the preform is magnesium fluoride, which avoids the known problems which result from the high reactivity of magnesium metal with other binders, such as silica and alumina, which results in the formation of magnesium oxide in the reinforced composite. The presence of magnesium oxide crystals in the metal matrix adversely affects the properties of the composite.

Abstract: An injection molding system includes a feeder in which a metal is melted and a first chamber into which a desired amount of melted metal is introduced. A piston in a second chamber first retracts to create suction, assisting in drawing in the melted metal into the second chamber from the first chamber and evacuating gas. A ram then pushes some melted metal remaining in the first chamber into the second chamber, forcing out gas present in the second chamber. The piston then injects the melted metal out of the second chamber into a mold. The melted metal is preferably maintained in a liquid state throughout the system.

A first valve arrangement alters the direction of gas flow through the heat transfer space, the first valve arrangement having a first condition in which the first region is upstream of the second region and a second condition in which the second region is upstream of the first region. First and second heat exchangers are disposed in the first and second regions respectively of the heat transfer space. A second valve arrangement connects each heat exchanger selectively either to a first heat transfer medium flow circuit or to a second heat transfer medium flow circuit.

Abstract: An injector is provided for injecting and withdrawing large diameter coiled tubing comprising a linear section of gripping blocks driven on an endless chain conveyor. The coiled tubing is forced into frictional engagement with the blocks by a corresponding linear array of rollers. The arrangement is gentle on the coiled tubing. The injector is not restricted in length and thus provides a linear driving section of configurable length for providing superior injection and pulling capacities. In combination with the strong draw works, mast and rotary table of a conventional rig enabling making up both sectional tubing for assembling BHA's, drilling surface hole and making up to non-rotating coiled tubing from the injector. Using a mast having two open sides and with dual drawworks, increased functionality is provided and less serial handling.
