Abstract: A weather-resistant glove for wear particularly by operators and passengers of open-air sport motor vehicles includes an outer glove shell and in inner glove liner, each having an elongate gauntlet cuff portion. The gauntlet cuff portion has an inner gauntlet and an outer gauntlet cooperatively defining a water catch basin, from which a drain opens outwardly of the glove at or near the lowest point of this basin while the user's hands are in a typical downwardly angled position on the sport motor vehicle. Water dribbling along a leeward side of the user's arms and into the gauntlets of the gloves will be caught in the water catch basins and is then drained outwardly of the glove without wetting the user's hands.

  • Publication number: 20030233697
Abstract: A thermal lining includes a first layer, a second layer overlappedly attached to the first layer in an edge to edge manner to form a construction pocket between the first and second layers wherein the construction pocket is shaped and sized for receiving in a storage compartment of a wear, and a cooling agent, having water absorbing ability, disposed in the construction pocket to form a heat insulation layer between the first and second layers. Therefore, the wearer is able to soak the thermal lining into the water, in such a manner that the water is permeated through the first layer into the construction pocket and absorbed by the cooling agent therein. The cooling agent with the water absorbed therein is adapted for receiving heat energy and gradually releasing the heat energy by evaporating the water, so as to provide the cooling effect for the wearer.

The fiber and/or filaments used to form the nonwoven fabric are deposited on a forming surface in a controlled orientation using application of an electrostatic charge to the fibers and/or filaments in combination with directing them to an electrode deflector plate while under the influence of the charge. The plate may be made up of teeth with a separation and angle orientation that are selected in accordance with the desired arrangement of the fibers and/or filaments in the nonwoven web. As a result, properties of the web such as relative strengths in the machine direction and cross-machine direction can be controlled. The charging of the pins is controlled so that not all pins remain at maximum charge during a cycle with the result that extended run times may be obtained.

Abstract: This invention includes a clip holder for use with a portable electronic device. The clip holder employs a flexible cable as a retention device. The flexible cable passes through an aperture 210 formed by a central member and a support member, thereby forming two closed loops. The size of each loop may be adjusted. In its smallest configuration, the clip holder is suitable for attachment to a button on a garment. In an alternate configuration, a loop may be folded over itself and attached to a hook member through a second loop, thereby forming a secure, closed loop around any solid object, including belts, purse straps, bicycle parts, lanyards and backpacks. The clip holder includes a latching assembly for coupling to the appropriate portable electronic device.

Abstract: A resilient clip for engaging a structure and having a body portion 22 with a pair of top flanges 24, a pair of fastening fingers 26 and a pair of abutting coupling flanges 28. Each of the fastening fingers 26 are coupled to the body portion 22 that is coupled to an associated top flange 24. Each of the abutting flanges 26 has a concave surface, which engages the mounting structure. The fastening finger 26 portions are configured to engage a first side of a mounting flange on an interior trim component. An optional sealing member 122 may be used to provide sealing engagement.

Abstract: A releasable retaining clip comprising a locking head defining a passageway that extends from an entry point on the locking head to an exit point on the locking head. A pivotable locking member extends from the locking head into the passageway between the entry point and the exit point. The locking member is pivotable between a first blocking and locking position, to an unlocked position. A strap portion extends outward from the locking head, adjacent the entry point of the passageway. The strap portion includes a head end connected to the locking head, a tail end spaced from the head end, and a strap body that extends from the tail end to the head end. A locking seat is formed into the strap body for receiving the locking member when the tail end of the strap portion and the strap body of the strap portion are urged through the entry point into the passageway.

Abstract: A two piece jaw type clip has a standard base member and a decoratively shaped top member that could be any of a number of pleasing shapes that can be interchangeably attached to the base. The base member has a generally flat or single step shaped body having a spring portion that extends in an arc over the body. The body of the base has slots or sockets that receive complimentary legs or prongs extending from the underside of the top piece to enable pivotable attachment of the two members together. Alternatively the legs could extend from the base into sockets in the top member. The top member has a cutout through which the spring portion from the base member extends and presses the top member against the base.

Abstract: A novel process for forming a compressed tampon includes the steps of forming an open structure comprising at least about 5 wt-% of cellulosic materials; heating the open structure to a temperature of at least about 40° C.; compressing the heated open structure to form the compressed tampon; and releasing the compressed fibrous tampon from compression. Surprisingly, both the force required for compression and the degree of over-compression are significantly reduced when the fibrous web is heated prior to compression. Indeed, what we have found is that heating the fibrous web prior to compression into the tampon form provides a more consistent, dimensionally-controlled product. It also requires lower compression forces to achieve a dimensionally stable product with reduced fiber damage.

Abstract: The invention relates to a manufacturing process and product for conductive fabric. The process uses metallic yarn and natural fiber as raw material. Metallic yarn is subject to a braiding step to wrap around staples (like natural wool, rabbit hairs or far IR treated wool or rabbit hairs etc.). In this step, silk (like rubber silk, stainless steel silk, wool etc.) is added to enhance the durability and also form conductive fabric in large size. Besides, color selection is made for the conductive fabric through a dying step for the yarn, which is prior to the formation of conductive fabric. Further, when it is for medical application, the object fabricated by the said conductive fabric can be connected to a current controller for appropriate current supply to attain electrotherapy effect. Since conductive fabric is formed by natural staples, its surface provides a long product life by repeated use directly.
