Abstract: A fine jewelry chain made of precious metal, base metal, or metal alloy, which may be used by day as an ID card holder in the form of a necklace, bracelet, belt, or watch-type chain, and by night as a piece of decorative jewelry in the form of a necklace, bracelet, belt, or watch-type chain. The chain includes a looped metal clasp which may be used to hold an ID card, transparent ID card holder, pendant, or charm, or to secure the necklace to itself, thus creating a double-stranded “choker” style of necklace. The chain may also be worn in the lapel, draped through belt-loops, or otherwise strung around a portion of clothing or of the body. Decorative charms may also be purchased and the chain threaded through said charms to create a more unique or individual piece of jewelry. The ID cards and charms strung from the chain may also incorporate embedded chip technology, which would allow for the download and storage of personal security information.

Abstract: A variable capacitance measuring device can comprise any one or more features in various different embodiments allow a reliable, compact device to be achieved. A capacitor electrode, a gettering housing, and pinch-off connector may be aligned along a common axis may reduce width dimensions without a substantial increase in length. Temperature-induced variations may be reduced by selecting materials that have coefficients of thermal expansion relatively closer to one another. Substantially varying topologies for ceramic-metal interfaces may reduce the likelihood of external contaminants from reaching the evacuated portion of the device. A tube can be used between the capacitor portion and a gettering housing to isolate external forces and getter activation heat from the sensor. The same tube also reduces heat loss from a heated sensor and protects the electronics from overheating. Embodiments also include processes for using and forming the devices.

Abstract: A variable capacitance measuring device can comprise a glass-ceramic insulator having a coefficient of thermal expansion that closely matches the coefficient of thermal expansion of a metallic materials used within the device. The glass-ceramic material may chemically bond to the surfaces of the metallic materials to provide a hermetic seal and eliminate the need for a separate glass seal or grooves within the electrode assembly. Additionally, a single-piece electrode assembly can be used instead of a separate electrode assembly (for the electrical feedthrough) and electrode. A shim may be used during the formation of the insulating material to reduce the likelihood of the insulator adhering to surfaces of the electrode portion during the manufacturing process. Also, separate bake-out and getter activation cycles may be combined into a single heat cycle.

Abstract: Projecting ends of terminal conductors projecting out of a thick portion of a holder and electrode terminals of a flow rate detecting element are electrically connected by bonding wires. A peripheral wall member is secured by an adhesive to a thin portion of the holder and the flow rate detecting element so as to surround the electrical connection portions between the projecting ends and the bonding wires and between the electrode terminals and the bonding wires. A gel is formed so as to seal the electrical connection portions, and a rubber is injected into and cured inside the peripheral wall member so as to seal the gel.

Abstract: A torque sensor includes first and second shafts, an elastic shaft, a magnet, a pair of ring plates, and a magnetic sensor. The elastic shaft connects the first and second shafts coaxially. The magnet is fixed to the first shaft. The pair of ring plates is fixed to the second shaft, and faces each other in an axial direction of the elastic shaft so that the pair of ring plates sandwiches the magnet. The magnetic sensor is disposed in a gap between the pair of ring plates so that the magnetic sensor detects a magnetic flux density in the gap. Each ring plate includes a convexity and a concavity in an inner circumference of each ring plate, respectively. The pair of ring plates is rotatable against the magnet in accordance with a twist of the elastic shaft so that the rotation of the ring plates causes the magnetic flux density in the gap.

Abstract: A system for the retrieval and initial conditioning of sample gas for “on line” analyzers or filling of gas sample cylinders. The preferred embodiment of the present invention contemplates a system configured to obtain a representative gas phase sample from a process gas containing entrained liquid, or a process gas which generally is highly susceptible to partial condensation of some gas phase components. The preferred embodiment of the present invention teaches an assembly including a phase separation membrane and housing configured to facilitate the removal of entrained liquid from a sample gas stream. Accuracy of the sample is enhanced, and compositional changes are avoided by first extracting a sample from the process gas followed by removal of entrained liquid it may contain, with the entrained liquid removal being conducted at the prevailing process gas pressure and temperature.
