Abstract: The lighted display for graphic artwork comprises a graphic artwork display article that can be removably placed on a platform above an electrically lighted display device for illumination of the graphic artwork. The display article of the present invention may utilize various combinations of translucent, transparent and opaque mounting plates for sandwiching graphic artwork images between at least two of the plates. Additionally, an opaque backer board may be provided as a divider that can be inserted between the two plates to separate artwork displayed on opposing sides of the graphic artwork display article. A platform disposed above the light source has a light aperture for passage of light from the light source through the platform and onto the artwork on display. In addition, the platform has a mounting channel forming sidewalls, which are provided to allow for the temporary and removable placement of the graphic artwork display thereon.

Abstract: A lighted sign for displaying address information includes a display for visually presenting address information, a power source for energizing the display, and an input device for obtaining address information to be displayed. The display includes a plurality of LED's. The sign includes a processor for actuating a first set of LED's to present the address information in a horizontal direction when the display is at a horizontal mode and for actuating a second set of LED's to present the address information in a vertical direction when the display is at a vertical mode. The sign further includes an orientation sensor in communication with the processor for selecting between horizontal and vertical modes. A light sensor is in communication the processor such that the LED's are actuated only under predetermined light conditions. The sign includes a mount for enabling the display to be moved between horizontal and vertical conditions.

Abstract: A digital display bin for displaying advertising content and for receiving and storing trash is disclosed, comprising a base attached to four vertical walls, three of the vertical walls including a digital display screen; and a fourth vertical wall hingedly connected to the digital display bin. Further disclosed is a top portion connected to the vertical walls having at least one aperture for receiving trash; and trash means for receiving and temporarily storing the trash, the trash means being removably located within the interior space of the digital display bin. The digital display bin includes at least three casters located on the underside of the base for allowing movement of the bin. The digital display bin includes computer means for storing a plurality of advertising clips having video content and for controlling the playback of the advertising clips; power supply means for providing power to the display screens and the computer means, respectively.

The housing includes a front portion having a clear plastic material formed into a window for displaying the removable translucent signage. The system further includes an illumination chamber provided coupled to the housing and placed at a distance behind the window and the cavity. The system also includes an access panel placed along an end of the housing and operable to eject the removable translucent signage when stored within the housing.

Abstract: Provided are signs comprised of flexible polymeric materials, which may be adhered to substantially flat surfaces by electrostatic attraction. The signs of the invention provide personal medical information concerning an individual who is normally situated in an area in the general whereabouts of the sign, so that other persons visiting the area can be readily informed of personal and/or medical information concerning the individual. The information displayed may relate to such topics as a do-not-resuscitate order, organ donor provisions; the use of oxygen; the existence of a living will; and the existence of a health care proxy, among other things.

Abstract: A character display system and method making the same are disclosed. In the system, the display is provided on a display surface. In one embodiment, the system includes at least one display character and a fastener for mounting the at least one display character to the display surface. The fastener includes a front engaging portion, a rear engaging portion, and a spacer portion located between the front engaging portion and the rear engaging portion. The spacer portion is configured, upon assembly, to raise the at least one display character a predetermined distance above the display surface.

Each panel forms a window for viewing printed media; the panels cooperate with each other and with the base member such that securing one of the panels to the base secures the other panels to the base. A top panel has a groove to engage the flange, and forms one or more windows for viewing printed media. A connector fastens the top panel along the opposite edge of the base from the flange. Another media display system includes a base. A top panel that forms one or more windows for viewing printed media is hingedly attached to the base. Preferably, the backing member has a plurality of resilient groove engaging edge protrusions with each resilient groove engaging edge protrusion cooperating with a receiving groove to secure an artwork within the outer frame. In use, each laterally extending resilient groove engaging edge protrusion is laterally compressed and then rebounds into close engagement with the receiving groove whereby the backing member is secured within the outer frame behind the artwork.

Abstract: Systems and methods usable to facilitate adjustments to a sighting device, such as a scope. In one example, an adjustment calculator associated with the scope receives data relating to a distance to a target and relating to at least one environmental variable, such as for example, wind and/or humidity, which may affect the trajectory of a projectile. The adjustment calculator processes the data and calculates a recommended scope adjustment. For instance, the adjustment calculator may output a number of adjustment “clicks” for a rifle scope in order to at least partially compensate for the distance and/or the environmental variable(s). In another example, the adjustment calculator receives data relating to properties of ammunition that may affect the trajectory of the ammunition.

A plastic drum is housed in the watering can and contains the water fertilizer mixture. The drum contains enough mixture to feed the plants for approximately one week. A quick connect hose is utilized to refill the drum. Refilling the drum is the only regular maintenance required. A plant basket is suspended from the spout of the watering can. The device is adapted to be secured to a supporting object such as a post or a wall.

Abstract: A reactor, system and method for producing hydrogen features a reactor containing a heating stream channel and a hydrogen channel with a reaction channel positioned there between. A heat transfer sheet separates the heating stream channel and the reaction channel and a porous support plate separates the reaction channel and the hydrogen channel. A membrane constructed from palladium, vanadium, copper or alloys thereof covers the porous support plate. The heating stream channel receives a heating stream so that heat is provided to the reaction channel through the heat transfer sheet. A catalyst is positioned in the reaction channel and the reaction channel receives a reaction stream including a mixture of supercritical water and a hydrocarbon fuel so that hydrogen is produced in the reaction channel and is passed through the membrane into the hydrogen channel.

The guide follower is attached to the door panel and disposed in operable engagement with the guide. The reset member is disposed proximate the second end of the guide. The reset member has a surface that is angularly oriented to facilitate operable engagement and alignment of the guide follower with the guide.

A window operator has a housing connected to the frame, including an upper and lower piece connected together. The housing has an offset countersink hole receiving a fastener. A spindle extends into the housing and has a groove therein. An arm is operably connected to the spindle and to the sash window to open and close the sash window. A resilient seal member is received within the groove in the spindle. A first gasket is positioned between the upper piece and the lower piece of the housing. A second gasket is positioned between the housing and the window frame. When the fastener is driven into the countersink hole, the housing is forced in a generally horizontal direction to compress the second gasket between the housing and the window frame.

The coated ultrahard abrasive particles are consolidated and sintered at a pressure and temperature at which they are crystallographically or thermodynamically stable.

The gutter shield device further comprises a filter element secured to the intermediate body portion. A surface of the filter element is arranged adjacent to the openings. A filtration element adapted to be mounted to a rain gutter is also provided. The filtration element comprises a plurality of interwoven threads defining a first substantially planar surface and at least one substantially planar extending portion extending at an angle to the first substantially planar surface.

Abstract: A composite panel assembly comprising at least one modular building unit. The modular building unit of the present invention may comprise two tubes aligned immediately adjacent, oriented parallel to each other, and having an integral connection over at least one portion of their outer circumferences. The volume surrounding the integrated tubes may be coated with a wide variety of function specific structural materials, and yet further, the inner diameter of the tubes may be filled with a wide variety of function specific filler materials. The composite panel assembly may be used in a wide variety of construction applications including, but not limited to, load bearing and impact resistant structures. One such application is a protective shelter that can be assembled in a pre-existing structure using common hand tools. The shelter may be assembled from the inside, and is resistant to both high winds and airborne missiles.

Abstract: A non-slick surface-seeded exposed aggregate concrete product and method of making the same enhances the coefficient of friction of an exposed surface thereof to reduce undesirable slipping and sliding. Implementations of the present invention are characterized by the use of fine sand and aggregate broadcast over the exposed surface, which surface has been prepared to receive the same. After curing, the exposed surface is then ground and acid-etched to define fissures, cracks, and/or sharp edges of the aggregate. Subsequently finishing steps are performed to produce the non-slick concrete product which may be used for high traffic pedestrian areas where foot gripping and traction are important, such as on stairs, ramps, walkways, courtyards, and the like.

The tread support member includes spaced apart flanges forming a channel shaped slot for receiving and supporting a stair tread member. Removable threaded fasteners are engageable with the second flange for retaining the stair treads secured to the tread support member. An elongated cap fits in a slot in the second flange and covers the fasteners.

Abstract: A non-metallic explosion vent is provided for protecting a confined space from a high overpressure condition. Reinforcing material having greater tensile strength than the resin, such as glass fiber roving, mesh or fabric, is embedded in the panel. An elongated, overall U-shaped groove extends inwardly from one of the surfaces of the panel through only a portion of the thickness of the panel. The groove interrupts the reinforcing material and defines a line of weakness that presents a relief area of the panel that opens under a predetermined overpressure condition. A plurality of spaced reinforcing components preferably overlie the groove, and optionally may extend across the relief area of the panel, transversely thereof and at an angle to one another. The reinforcing components contribute to control of the burst pressure of the vent and assist in preventing separation of the vent area from the body of the panel and/or fragmentation of the vent area during opening thereof.

Abstract: A protective cover for windows and kits containing a protective covering for windows are described herein. The protective cover is formed of rubber, preferably formed from recycled tires. The cover may be rolled up to form a cylinder and then unrolled to cover the window or door. The kit contains a pre-sized protective cover and means for securing the cover to a building. Means for securing the cover to a building include screws and washers, bolts, nails, brackets, latches, a sleeve, a buildout frame, and manual or motorized rolling devices. In one preferred embodiment, the kit contains a cover contain with at least four holes, where each hole contains a grommet, and plates, screws and washers, bolts, nails, brackets, and/or latches to attach the cover to the building. In one preferred embodiment, the kit contains a sleeve and a cover. The sleeve can be secured to the outside of a window frame on both sides of and below the window to be protected and the cover can slidably engage with the sleeve.
