Publication number: 20070234502Abstract: An apparatus and method for automatically drying a tennis court or other flat surface after rainfall is provided. A robotic vehicle cooperates with a sensing unit preferably mounted on a fence adjacent the court or other paved surface. A sensing unit detects the onset and cessation of rain and then waits a predetermined amount of time. After waiting, the sensing unit transmits a signal to the robotic vehicle which actuates the vehicle. The robotic vehicle includes an on-board controller which is internally programmed with a map of the court including obstructions. The robotic vehicle automatically sponge rolls the entire court. A thermal imaging camera connected to the sensing unit then scans the court to determine if any wet spots remain. The location of any remaining wet spots is recorded and transmitted to the on-board controller of the robotic vehicle. The robotic vehicle then returns to the location of the wet spots and automatically sponge rolls and fan dries those remaining wet spots.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 10, 2007Publication date: October 11, 2007Inventor: William Brobeck

Publication number: 20070234503Abstract: A surface cleaning apparatus comprises an accessory hose mounted to an upright handle and a recovery tank mounted to a base. An accessory working air path is formed between the accessory hose and the recovery tank when the upright handle is in an upright position and is separated when the handle is tilted from the upright position. The upright handle and the base can include couplings that are in register when the upright handle is in the upright position to form the accessory working air path.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2007Publication date: October 11, 2007Applicant: BISSELL HOMECARE, INC.Inventors: Alan Krebs, Kenneth Lenkiewicz

Publication number: 20070234504Abstract: The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner comprising a housing and an exhaust opening that is fluidically connected to an overpressure side of a motor/blower unit, which is surrounded by an insulating capsule and which is placed inside a blower housing, via a duct that has a duct section, which is arranged while extending between the insulating capsule and the motor/blower housing. The aim of the invention is to obtain a fluidically optimized duct between the insulating capsule of the motor/blower unit and of a housing part with simple means whose production and assembly are cost-effective. To this end, the invention provides that at least one capsule part of the insulating capsule is joined to a housing part, particularly of the blower housing, while forming a single piece. The largely prevents the formation of perturbing edges due to assembly gaps, and the vacuum cleaner can be cost-effectively produced and assembled with a reduced variety of parts.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 10, 2004Publication date: October 11, 2007Applicant: BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgerate GmbHInventors: Erich Bott, Roland Illig, Anja Niedergesass, Jorg Niedergesass

Publication number: 20070234505Abstract: An upright vacuum cleaner is provided having a suction nozzle height adjustment arrangement controlled by a rotary mode control member located on the upper housing. The rotary mode control member controls a suction nozzle height adjustment motor and a rotary agitator drive disconnect arrangement. A wheel tensioner located on an idler arm is operatively connected to a cam on the suction nozzle height adjustment motor which tensions and de-tensions the agitator drive belt to control the rotary agitator. The rotary mode control member could have discrete settings for the various floor surfaces to be cleaned including bare floors and carpet of varying pile heights. Alternately, the rotary mode control member could be variable so that an infinite number of suction nozzle height settings can be selected.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2006Publication date: October 11, 2007Inventors: Evan Gordon, Kenneth Cooper, Andrew Budd, Jack Stayer

Publication number: 20070234507Abstract: A glide assembly for furniture legs or bases which allows for multiple combinations of attachment devices and base styles. The glide assembly will adapt to the attachment means required by the furniture being fitted which may include bolts, screws, nails, or split or solid stems. Base style choices for different flooring requirements can be interchanged and replaced as needed. This invention permits easy separation of the base from the mounting assembly by mere finger pressure or alternately by using a pry tool. One version of my new glide consists of a three part swivel assembly and another consists of a two part non-swivel assembly. The hard base option is of a unique design to allow for easier sliding on soft carpets or rugs. The soft base option can be fitted with a felt for easy sliding or rubber for non-skid use on hard flooring materials.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2006Publication date: October 11, 2007Inventor: Steven Vorpahl
