Abstract: Formation of the mosaic is performed by joining a first sheet element made of plastic to a second sheet element made of wood, thus obtaining a bilayer laminate, which is subsequently cut into a plurality of elements. After an ageing treatment by abrasion, or by beveling, each element is placed internally of a template, a top surface of each element facing downwards at this point. A grid is glued onto the plurality of elements in the template. The mosaic thus formed is waterproofed and a mixture of sand and glue is deposited on a bottom surface of the mosaic.

Abstract: A moment resistant building column insert system is provided that enables the erection of beams to columns, and the installation and pretension of connection bolts possible in a single stop to each beam-column joint in the field. Included is a building column insert with pre-hardened structural filler inside, and a pattern of through-holes transverse to the insert length, where the insert has threaded elements disposed inside and concentric to erection holes in the pattern. The insert is disposed inside a building column. Erection bolts installed to the erection holes to hold the beam in place against the column with the holes in the beam mounting plate, the column and insert aligned. Connection through-bolts are installed and pretensioned to provide the connection strength needed to make a beam-column moment joint rigid. Without the pre-hardened structural filler in the insert the column would deform or crush due to the bolt pretensioning.

The drive train is powered by an internal combustion engine and at least one second drive unit. It is proposed that also in an operating state, which lies outside of the idle speed, a rotational speed or a torque of the internal combustion engine deviating from values for the engine rotational speed and the torque is set, which would exist during an identical driving condition without the heating-up or keeping warm of the exhaust gas emission control assembly.

Abstract: An air-fuel ratio control device for an internal combustion engine can detect the deteriorated purification state of a catalyst without delay after completion of rich or lean control, and can rapidly restore the purification state. A filter process constant for a downstream O2 sensor output is set smaller when rich or lean control are performed, thus allowing detection of the deteriorated purification state of the catalyst without delay. After the rich or lean control is completed, a dual O2 control system is used to rapidly restore the purification state. Further, the impact of downstream O2 sensor output variation when the catalyst is deteriorated can be suppressed, and stability of the dual O2 control system can be maintained.

Abstract: A procedure to operate a particle filter disposed in an exhaust gas area of an internal combustion engine and a device to implement the procedure are proposed. The particle filter is regenerated if required by the particles lodged in the filter, whereby the particle filter is heated for regeneration by manipulation of the exhaust gas temperature upstream in front of the particle filter. During the regeneration of the particle filter, the exhaust gas temperature is established to a specified exhaust gas temperature set point, which is dependent upon at least one parameter of the particle filter during the regeneration. The procedural approach according to the invention allows for a quick regeneration of the particle filter without endangering the particle filter with an inadmissibly high temperature.

Abstract: A multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, wherein exhaust gas outlets of a first portion of the cylinders of the engine communicate with a first exhaust gas manifold section, and the exhaust gas outlets of the remaining cylinders communicate with a second exhaust gas manifold section. An oxidation catalytic converter is disposed in the first exhaust gas manifold section for converting nitric oxide into nitrogen dioxide. A hydrolysis catalytic converter is disposed in the second exhaust gas manifold section, wherein downstream of the catalytic converters the first and second exhaust gas manifold sections discharge into a common main exhaust gas manifold, in which is disposed a further catalytic converter. Upstream of the hydrolysis catalytic converter, a reduction agent can be introduced into the second exhaust gas manifold section; ammonia is adapted to be produced from the reduction agent via the hydrolysis catalytic converter.
