Publication number: 20090084042Abstract: Abrasive articles possessing a highly open (porous) structure and uniform abrasive grit distribution are disclosed. The abrasive articles are fabricated using a metal matrix (e.g., fine nickel, tin, bronze and abrasives). The open structure is controlled with a porosity scheme, including interconnected porosity (e.g., formed by leaching of dispersoid), closed porosity (e.g., induced by adding a hollow micro-spheres and/or sacrificial pore-forming additives), and/or intrinsic porosity (e.g., controlled via matrix component selection to provide desired densification). In some cases, manufacturing process temperatures for achieving near full density of metal bond with fillers and abrasives, are below the melting point of the filler used, although sacrificial fillers may be used as well. The resulting abrasive articles are useful in high performance cutting and grinding operations, such as back-grinding silicon, alumina titanium carbide, and silicon carbide wafers to very fine surface finish values.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2007Publication date: April 2, 2009Applicants: Saint-Gobain Abrasives, Inc., Saint-Gobain Abrasifs Technologie et Services, S.A.SInventors: Srinivasan Ramanath, Parul Walia

Publication number: 20090084044Abstract: Disclosed herein are various waterproof membranes that may be applied to a sill surface of an opening in a building structure to waterproof that surface as well as direct water that penetrates through the opening out of the structure. Generally, one or more flexible waterproof membranes are adhesively applied to the sill surface for purposes of waterproofing that surface. In one arrangement, an exposed top surface of the membrane forms a resilient surface that allows for inserting, for example, shims between the membrane and a structure disposed on the membrane without damaging the membrane. In another arrangement, an exposed top surface of the membrane includes a wicking material to facilitate removal of moisture from a structure. In another arrangement, the membrane includes a conformable flap to facilitate the adherence of the flap to surface that is transverse to the remainder of the membrane.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2007Publication date: April 2, 2009Applicant: PROTECTO WRAP COMPANYInventor: John R. Publication number: 20090084047Abstract: There is disclosed a furring strip system wherein furring strips serve to provide a space to promote drainage and drying between the exterior siding or cladding and the underlying construction. These furring strips may be pre-attached to at least one side of a water resistive barrier (WRB—sometimes referred to as “Housewrap”) Additionally, it has been found that the use of closed cell polyethylene foam furring strips significantly reduces the amount of water penetration and leakage that occurs along the fasteners through the furring strips and the WRB onto the unprotected sheathing therebeneath, i.e. the closed cell foam furring strips provide a “gasketing effect”, and “self-sealing” as the fastener, whether it be a staple or nail, penetrates the closed cell polyethylene foam furring strip. The usefulness of the invention is the same regardless of whether the furring strips are pre-attached to the WRB or are added before or after the WRB has been applied to the building structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 25, 2008Publication date: April 2, 2009Inventor: Mark F. Publication number: 20090084076Abstract: The invention is related to a device and to a method for packaging flat articles (10) conveyed in a conveying stream, in particular printed products, with a packaging material. The device includes a conveying device (24) for conveying the flat articles in a conveying direction (F), as well as a processing means (16) for producing an at least partially closed envelope (20) out of packaging material. Apart from this, an onward conveying device (26) for conveying onwards articles (10) enveloped with envelopes (20) out of packaging material is present. Because as a result of errors in feeding-in, in particular gaps in the incoming conveying stream, it is possible that empty envelopes are produced, in accordance with the invention a transfer device (28) is arranged downstream of the processing means (16). This is capable of removing from the conveying stream empty envelopes (22) produced without the inclusion of an article (10).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2008Publication date: April 2, 2009Applicant: FERAG AGInventor: Thomas Luginbuehl

Publication number: 20090084084Abstract: In a method for correcting the fuel concentration in a regeneration gas flow of a tank venting device, the fuel concentration is determined, and a defined regeneration gas flow rate is set and supplied to the engine to use the regeneration gas in the combustion process. Then, a reference composition is determined and the flow rate is varied. Then, a first injection amount correction value is determined based on the fuel concentration and the flow rate adjustment amount. A pre-specified quantity of fuel is corrected by the first correction value and the exhaust gas composition is determined again after the corrected fuel quantity has been supplied. A second correction value is determined by which the corrected fuel quantity is further corrected to set the exhaust gas composition to the reference composition. The fuel concentration of the regeneration gas flow is corrected by the first and the second correction values.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2008Publication date: April 2, 2009Inventors: Wolfgang Mai, Jens Pache

Publication number: 20090084086Abstract: A procedure for operating an exhaust gas treatment device arranged in the exhaust gas area of a combustion engine, which requires for the catalytically supported conversion of the NOx emission of the combustion engine a reagent, whose dosage is determined by a dosage signal depending on a NOx actual value that is contained in the exhaust gas treatment device and that is measured by a NOx sensor, which is contained in the exhaust gas treatment device downstream after a catalyzer, as well as a device for implementing the procedure is suggested. The dosage singal is influenced by a correcting signal depending on a measure for the operating time of the exhaust gas treatment device in the sense of an increase of the dosage of the reagent.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2008Publication date: April 2, 2009Applicant: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Dirk SAMUELSEN

Publication number: 20090084087Abstract: An exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, which is capable of terminating reduction control in proper timing when a NOx cleaning catalyst includes an auxiliary catalyst having an oxygen storage capacity, thereby making it possible to reduce exhaust emissions and improve fuel economy. The exhaust emission control device includes the NOx cleaning catalyst and an ECU. The NOx cleaning catalyst includes the auxiliary catalyst having an oxygen storage capacity. The ECU executes reduction control when predetermined conditions for executing the reduction control are satisfied.
