Abstract: Systems and methods are described which allow the detection of gaps in a set of data. These systems and methods may include defining streams of data from a network topology, associating incoming data with one or more of these streams, and processing these streams. A gap may be detected by comparing the times of events in the stream. If a gap is detected remedial action may be taken, and processing of the streams temporarily halted. Processing of the streams may continue when data for a certain stream is received, or after the lapse of a certain period of time.

Abstract: This is a method of automatically tracking and displaying “Search Histories” inline within the context of an Internet research project. Links to context specific history listings can be displayed contextually within a block diagram and/or within a list. This contextual view of histories facilitates finding and quickly returning to a previously visited web pages. The detailed information about these pages contained in the history pages further facilitates finding the web page of interest. These tools are particularly helpful in the context of an Internet research project.

Abstract: Methods and systems for monetizing editorial and user-generated content via conversion into affiliate marketing links. Aspects of the disclosure, for example, are directed to methods and systems configured to enable rewriting of URLs based on a synchronized database of merchants collected from a breadth of affiliate networks. In several embodiments, for example, upon posting of a URL to a user-generated website or on clicking of a URL on such a site by a user, the server system compares the domain name of the URL against a database of merchants synchronized across multiple affiliate networks. When a merchant's domain name is found, the server system may convert the URL using a deep linking syntax outlined in the merchant database so that the URL becomes an affiliate link that leads to the original URL via the corresponding affiliate network. User clicks on this converted URL may generate affiliate commissions.

Abstract: Managing diagram elements in a drawing becomes more challenging as the number of diagram elements increases. Placing a new diagram element in a drawing often requires manual movement of one or more other diagram elements within the drawing. Functionality can be implemented within a drawing application to automatically manage diagram elements in a drawing by applying layouts to sets of diagram elements. A drawing tool can associate a set of diagram elements and assigns them a exclusive area or region in the drawing space. Since a layout occupies an exclusive area, the drawing tool can manage the drawing space by automatically moving elements within a first layout when overlap with a second layout is detected. Managing drawing spaces with layouts reduces time spent adjusting diagram elements as a result of applying operations to other elements.

Abstract: Manually changing properties of each diagram element placed in a drawing becomes tedious. A significant amount of time is spent manually customizing diagram elements creating or editing a drawing. Functionality can be implemented within a drawing application to allow automatic diagram element customization based on a set of diagram element policies. Diagram policies specify conditions for customizing properties of a diagram element. Automatic customization of diagram elements reduces time spent creating drawings because diagram elements will be placed in a drawing in their desired configurations.

Abstract: A spreadsheet system stores objects and formulas in the cells of the spreadsheet, along with metadata tags. Each cell may contain multiple objects (such as a group of photos). Drag-and-drop user actions automatically change tags associated with the moved objects based on a formula stored in the target cell if a forcing semantics mode is active, or automatically change a formula stored in the target cell if a non-forcing semantics mode is active. A formula in a cell selects a set of objects and may include set operators such as union, intersection, and minus. The formula may also filter sets to select a subset based on specified tag attributes of objects. The display of the spreadsheet adaptively selects a subset of objects to render in a cell and appropriately scales photos for optimal viewing.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for property dependency visualization. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for property dependency visualization can be provided. The method can include detecting a proximity event for a control in a user interface (UI) and determining a dependency relationship between a property for the control and at least one other property for at least one control in the UI. Thereafter, a view of the dependency relationship can be rendered in connection with the control for which the proximity event is detected. In this way, tracking dependencies in a large form of a multiplicity of controls can be facilitated.

Abstract: A network security monitor system groups a plurality of security events into network sessions, correlates the network sessions according to a set of predefined network security event correlation rules and generates a security incident for the network sessions that satisfy one of the network security event correlation rules. The system then presents the information of the network sessions and security incidents to a user of the system in an intuitive form. The user is able to not only learn the details of a possible network attack, but also creates new security event correlation rules intuitively, including drop rules for dropping a particular type of events.

The method includes the following steps. A request of downloading a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) based on an XML data stream is sent by the web browser of the client. A data stream based on a tag is received on the web browser of the client, and used for determining whether the web browser of the client satisfies a preset installation condition or not. If the web browser of the client satisfies the preset installation condition, the XML application is driven in the non-intrusive manner. If the web browser of the client does not satisfy the preset installation condition, the web browser of the client is redirected to a web address displaying a specific message.

Abstract: An electronic document processing apparatus and an electronic document processing method are provided that can perform a sophisticated search such as concept search with a high precision even on images including decorated text strings. Text strings are extracted from an electronic document containing layout information, and a baseline of the extracted text string is detected. Subsequently, a line segment A extending forward from the baseline and a line segment B of a different type from the line segment A extending backward from the baseline are provided. It is determined, for different text strings, that the different text strings are concatenated if the line segments A and B, which are provided for the different text string, overlap with each other.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a network-based method and system for filtering a junk message. The method includes the following procedures: word-segmenting a target message to obtain characteristic elements within the target message; obtaining probabilities of the characteristic elements in the target message according to a predefined keyword library, the keyword library being updated periodically; and accumulating the probabilities of the characteristic elements in the target message, comparing accumulated probabilities with a predetermined threshold, and concluding the target message is a junk message if the result is greater than the predetermined threshold. Using a predefined keyword library for verification of a target message avoids time delay and system resource waste caused by massive and complicated computations during message verification in existing technologies, thus satisfying the requirement of real-time filtering of junk messages.

Briefly described, one embodiment of the system, among others, includes an electronic viewer application to display contents of an electronic document; and a visual indicator logic configured to display at least one visual indicator on the electronic display, each visual indicator indicating a portion of the contents that are to be subsequently displayed on the electronic display in response to a navigation command. Abstract: An interaction tracking facility records, stores, plays back, distributes and allows recipients to interject new events into a stored set of discrete interaction events of a dashboard. A recorder stores data that identifies dashboard annotation and analysis events so that they can be later retrieved and played back. During playback, the stored events are executed, in stepwise fashion, in another dashboard, recreating the events recorded on the first dashboard as if they were performed on the second dashboard. The second dashboard can be coupled to different data than the original dashboard without changing the stored events. Events are stored in a repository and identified by a URL, which can be sent to a recipient for retrieval. The playback can be stopped at any time, and a branch recording created with a second set of interaction events that are different from or additional to the original recording events.
