Abstract: Methods for making a layered dental appliance. Some methods of the present disclosure can include providing a solid structure (e.g., a die or a dental core, such as a fully sintered ceramic dental core) having a desired outer shape, and applying a slurry to the solid structure to form a first free form layer on the solid structure. The slurry can include at least one of a glass and a glass ceramic. The method can further include firing the first free form layer on the solid structure, and machining the fired first free form layer to a desired shape to form a first article comprising the solid structure and a first shaped layer. Some methods can further include additional applying, firing, and machining steps to achieve a resulting dental appliance having a desired number of layers. Some methods can include removing the solid structure.

Abstract: A rotary electric shaver includes an outer cutter case secured to the outer periphery of an outer cutter and having a sliding surface formed on the outer periphery. An outer cutter case holder is fitted in a mounting port to vertically move with an upper limit position restrained and pivotably holds the outer cutter case to guide the sliding surface. A pushup plate imparts an upward return tendency to an outer cutter case assembly including the outer cutter, the outer cutter case and the outer cutter case holder. The outer periphery of the outer cutter case is provided with a projection extending to the upper surface of the outer cutter frame, serving as a stopper which prevents the outer cutter case from sinking into the mounting port. This arrangement prevents the outer cutter from being caught by the inner edge of the mounting port and improves shaving performance.

When the knife holder is displaced toward the housing, the first and second magnetic elements are connected together by magnetic attraction, and the first and second knives jointly cover the hole. When the pressing portion is displaced toward the housing, the first magnetic element is disconnected from the second magnetic element, and the knife holder is pushed and displaced by a spring to prevent the second knife from covering the hole that is not covered by the first knife.

Abstract: A chisel includes a blade and a first handle and second handle that are each rotatably coupled to the blade. The first handle forms a first channel adapted to receive a first side of the blade and the second handle forms a second channel adapted to receive a second side of the blade opposite the first side. The two handles are rotatable between an open and a closed position. In some cases, the two handles comprise a rotatable coupling such that the first handle and the second handle rotate with one another in opposite directions between the closed and open positions. The chisel further can have an over-center structure configured to impede rotation of the two handles from the closed toward the open position. In some cases, the two handles each form an interlocking component adapted to releasably couple the two handles when they are rotated to the open position.

Abstract: A protective riser guide for scissors is provided in the present disclosure. In certain embodiments, the protective riser guide is integrally formed with an arm of a pair of scissors. In other embodiments, the protective riser guide is removably attached to the exterior surface of a scissor arm. Preferably, the protective riser guide is in the shape of an arc extending away from the interior surface of the arm if the guide is integrally formed with the arm, or from the exterior surface if the guide is removably attached to the exterior surface. Due to the shape and position of the protective riser guide on the arm of a pair of scissors in certain embodiments, the protective riser guide is ergonomic and increases the safety of the operator of the scissors without interfering with the operator's cutting techniques.

Abstract: Front feet are provided at a lower part of a cutting-machine main body via a foot holder. Furthermore, a slider positioned on a front side relative to the front feet is provided at the lower part. When a workpiece to be cut is to be cut by a blade, the cutting-machine main body is tilted so as to let the blade go down. When the cutting-machine main body is tilted, a state where the front feet are in contact with the workpiece is switched to a state where the slider is in contact with the workpiece. Then, by moving the cutting-machine main body forward while sliding the slider on the workpiece, the workpiece is cut by the blade. In the cutting operation, the front feet can get away from the workpiece. Therefore, damage of the front feet can be prevented, and the running cost can be suppressed.

The razor blade is formed from strip that is manufactured including a thermal oxidation process to form a chromium oxide layer on the side surface of the razor blade. This oxide film prevents electrochemical corrosion of the razor blade that may be visible to a user and prevents real or perceived premature failure of the razor blade and thus the razor cartridge during its extended life. The razor blade assembly may also have an array of closely spaced droplets of a liquid adapted to inhibit corrosion of the razor blade applied to the side of the razor blade visible to a user.
