Abstract: An adjustable suit is provided which includes an optional torso section having front and back portions and a torso circumference, a waist section having a front portion and a back portion and a waist section circumference, and a leg section including a pair of legs. Each of the legs has a leg opening therein, and each of the leg openings has a leg opening circumference. The suit includes at least one adjustable member which extends generally along at least one of the optional torso, waist, and leg sections. The at least one adjustable member is adapted to increase or decrease at least one of the optional torso, waist, and leg opening circumferences to reduce the time and effort needed to don and take off the suit. The adjustable features of the suit also permit the wearer to tighten one or more sections of the suit to accommodate the different physiques of wearers while providing a snug fit and support during athletic or work activities.

Abstract: Disclosed is a functional sportswear having ripping lines. The ripping lines 6 and 8 are patterned by cutting a portion of a fibrous sportswear top 2 or fibrous sportswear bottoms 2A so as to form one or more pieces 10, and sewing adjacent pieces 10 to each other and sewing respective pieces 10 to cut portions adjacent thereto using a ripping-line sewing thread 12, which has a lower tensile strength than a tensile strength of a typical sewing thread, in a zigzag form. The ripping-line sewing thread 12 is formed of a twisted yarn including a frangible fiber yarn 14, which has a lower tensile strength than a polyester fiber yarn for a sewing thread, and a soluble yarn 16. The soluble yarn 16 is dissolved and removed after weaving using the sewing thread, whereby the frangible fiber yarn 14 remains in the ripping-line sewing thread 12 that sews the ripping lines 6 and 8.

Abstract: A method of providing a garment with low aerodynamic drag for an individual person includes providing a database containing data relating to the aerodynamic performance of a plurality of garments when worn by a plurality of persons having different adopted body shapes, determining the adopted body shape of the individual person, and entering data relating to the adopted body shape of the individual person into a computer. The database is interrogated to identify a set of aerodynamic performance data relating to garments worn by a person having a similar adopted body shape to the individual person. The computer compares the aerodynamic performance data of the garments in the identified data set, selects from the identified data set a garment having a relatively low aerodynamic drag, looks up in the database the characteristics of the selected garment, and uses at least some of the characteristics of the selected garment to provide a garment for the individual person.

Abstract: The invention relates to a compact electroluminescent laminar element comprising a flexible electroluminescent lamp (2) and an electronic module (3) which is connected in the same layer as the lower electrode (4) to said lamp (2) and comprises at least an electronic control component (5), an electronic component (6) for activating the lamp (2), and a battery (7), where said lamp (2) and said electronic module (3) are housed together in an encapsulating substrate (8) consisting of a textile or plastic material, forming a closed and compact element that can be water-impermeable. The activation component (6) is a push-button, a temperature sensor, or a movement sensor. It also comprises a reflective layer (9).

Abstract: An ear sun protector that is attachable to a hat. The ear protector includes a clip having a front clip portion and a rear clip portion that are coupled at a bottom planar portion, where the front clip portion and the rear clip portion define a gap therebetween configured to accept a rim of the hat. The ear protector also includes a curved sunlight blocking portion that is affixed to a front face of the front clip portion and that is generally perpendicular relative to the clip. The sunlight blocking portion sits above an ear of a user when the ear protector is clipped to the hat.

Abstract: The invention provides a pre-cut, pre-shaped protective strip with adhesive on one side protected by a peel-off tape strip. In certain embodiments, a cut-out section may be provided to accommodate the bridge of the medical professional's nose. In other embodiments, a raised nasal accommodator may be provided in the protective strip. In other embodiments, a protective strip may be incorporated into the surgical mask itself.

Abstract: Adjustable support pants or briefs are provided which include one or more of a waist section, hip support section, or leg section with leg openings. The support pants or briefs include first and second adjustable members positioned on opposite sides of a sagittal plane of the support pants or briefs which extend generally longitudinally along the garment. The adjustable members are adapted to increase or decrease at least one of the waist, hip, or leg opening circumferences to reduce the time and effort needed to don (and take off) the garment. The adjustable features of the support pants or briefs also permit the wearer to tighten one or more sections of the garment to accommodate the different physiques of wearers while providing a snug fit and support during athletic or work activities.

Abstract: A wearable garment includes a tube of material to cover a torso of the wearer, and a band in the shape of a loop. When unshaped, the tube has a substantially uniform diameter along a length thereof. To shape the garment, the band is removably connected to the tube at first and second points, which are spaced apart on same edge of the tube. The first and second points are gathered handfuls of the material along the same edge of the tube, and are directly and releasably connected to each other and secured by the band in the shaped position to define an opening along the edge of the tube. The tube returns to the unshaped position when the band is removed and the first and second points are disconnected from each other.

Abstract: A convertible seal for a suit used in and around water includes a body having at least one of a collar, a sleeve or a pant leg that must be sealed to prevent water entry during use. The collar, sleeve or pant leg is equipped with a permanently attached seal configuration that has an operative position is in axial alignment with the collar, sleeve or pant leg and a stored position out of axial alignment with the collar, sleeve or pant leg.

Abstract: A utility glove having a palm side including a three dimensional molded palm portion formed of an elastomeric material with a thumb portion and at least one finger portion and a back side of the glove comprising a fabric material, with the molded palm portion formed in a pre-curved configuration to create a concave shape. The molded palm has one or more of thickened areas for abrasion resistance, padded areas for comfort, flex grooves for improved movement, textured grip areas for improved grip and/or perforations for breathability. The molded palm portion may be formed of different elastomeric materials to take advantage of the different characteristics of the particular materials.

Abstract: Articles of clothing, such as gloves having a substantially seamless inner liner and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a process for manufacturing a glove comprises stretching an outer layer inside-out over a glove form, such that an interior surface of the outer layer faces outward. A liner having a first side and a second side opposite the first side is cut from a fabric, such as fleece. An adhesive is deposited in an adhesive pattern onto the first side of the liner. The adhesive fuses to the interior surface of the outer layer in a heat/pressure procedure, thereby affixing the first side of the liner to the interior surface of the outer layer to form the glove. The glove is removed from the glove form and inverted to a right-side-out configuration, thereby compressing the outer layer and the liner.

Abstract: A system and method which allows for a pre-constructed article of clothing to having printing on substantially all of its external surface area. Specifically, an image may be simultaneously printed across multiple components of a clothing article. The method generally provides for transfer of a digital image, such as a digital photograph, to be applied to an article of clothing in a manner that prints an entire two-dimensional surface of the clothing with a coherent image, that maintains coherency when the article of clothing is worn. There is also provided an article of clothing produced using the systems and methods.

The first and second fastening parts include co-operable fastening members for detachable fastening. The fastening members, at least when attached, are concealable by a concealing member, the concealing member being movable between an operating position to conceal the fastening members and a non-operating position to expose the fastening members.

Abstract: An artificial house plant, hereby named ‘Pen Plant’, made from artificial wired plants wherein each individual shoot comprises of a ballpoint pen arranged in a pot or vase to realistically resemble a house plant. Floral tape may be used to create the illusion of the extension of the plants shoot or root. Pieces of the plant may be used to decorate vase or pot with, in some cases and as shown in FIG. 1-a, ribbon.

The visor is disposed in and extending from the front section, and the visor comprises an upper surface and a lower surface. The first and second areas provided on the lower surface of the visor, and the first area and the second area have contrasting optical properties. The first area and the second area may have contrasting colors. Alternatively, the first area and the second area may be provided as two-tone portions. The first area and the second area may meet each other along a middle line dividing the lower surface of the visor substantially by halves. The middle line may be straight. The headgear may further comprise one or more eyesight reference portions disposed on the first or second area.

Abstract: A protective head covering includes a cylindrical-like sleeve with two large openings, one at the top and one at the bottom. The first opening expands and contracts using an elastic band and the second opening can be closed using a sealing mechanism that confines the user's hair to the inside of the cap, sealing out all water, wind or other elements. The bottom of the sleeve can be secured up off of the user's neck, back and shoulders using a fastening member.

Abstract: Systems and methods for attaching an accessory to a helmet are disclosed. A helmet accessory mounting interface may be attached to a receptacle. The receptacle may be removably or permanently received by a carrier. The carrier may be attached to a helmet having a particular shape and size. The carrier also may be configured to receive any selected type of a plurality of receptacle types which, in turn, corresponds to a particular mounting interface for a helmet accessory. The receptacle may be receivable, in some embodiments removably, by any one of a number of different types of carriers.

Abstract: A headgear accessory attachment apparatus includes a band having an adjustable size for fitting about a circumference of various outdoor sports helmets such as bicycle, skateboarding, snow sport, mountaineering, equestrian helmets, military helmets, and hard hats used in material moving, dock loading, and airport baggage handling. The accessory attachment apparatus provides the wearer an easy means to attach headgear accessories such as headlamps, helmet cameras, rear lights, goggles, visors, brims, and decorative embellishments to the helmet. The accessories may be permanently or temporarily secured to the accessory apparatus. In one headgear accessory attachment apparatus, the band includes a stop surface that opposes a bottom surface of the headgear when the apparatus is affixed to the headgear such that the apparatus is prevented from becoming dislodged during use.

Abstract: A double-shell helmet is disclosed. The double-shell helmet includes an outer shell, an impact absorbing material layer affixed to the outer shell on a first side of the impact absorbing material layer, an inner shell affixed to the impact absorbing material layer on a second side of the impact absorbing material layer opposite the first side of the impact absorbing material layer, and a foam layer affixed to the inner shell.

Abstract: A system for protecting a head of a wearer from an impact force includes a helmet defining an interior space for housing the head and at least one damper coupled to the helmet at a first end and extending therefrom along a longitudinal axis to a second end. The damper includes of a plurality compressible energy damper elements concentrically arranged about the longitudinal axis. The plurality of compressible energy damper elements includes an outer damper element and an inner damper element. The outer damper element surrounds the inner damper element and extends to the second end of the damper. The outer damper element has a first uncompressed length and the inner element has a second uncompressed length that is different from the first uncompressed length. Alternatively, the plurality of compressible damper elements are concentrically arranged and are arranged end to end in series.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a high performance thermoplastic matrix composite ballistic helmet includes forming/shaping highly consolidated helmet preforms free of wrinkles and with no cuts or seams from a flat stack of 0/90 uni-directional prepreg layers, both with and without carbon epoxy skins or layers, using a pressure forming process. The wrinkle free and no cuts pre-formed helmet shell is pre-heated and placed between match-metal dies in a compression molding press to be molded under constant pressure during heating at high temperature and cooling down to below 160° F. in less than 45 minutes.

Abstract: There is a footwear combination system that has a wearable insole and an article of footwear. The wearable insole has an upper portion and a sole or inner sole, and the article of footwear has an outer sole and an upper covering. The article of footwear also lacks an inner sole, which is provided by the wearable insole. The wearable insole is sized to fit within the article of footwear to be worn in conjunction with the article of footwear. However, the wearable insole can also be worn on its own. When worn together, the sole of the wearable insole acts as the sole for the article of footwear, and functions as an inner sole/outer sole when worn without the article of footwear. The article of footwear may be any type of footwear including boots, athletic shoes, dress shoes, and high heels.

The foot guard sleeve is comprised of a thin layer of Kevlar, or other aramid material, fastened to a thin layer of neoprene, all sewn into and enveloped by a negligibly thin outer mesh/spandex sleeve, and altogether measuring ?? to ¼? in thickness. These thin, flexible, malleable, and lightweight materials allow for the full mobility and flexion of the player's foot, greatly reducing any hindrance caused by the gear, while still providing ample protection against serious injury caused by accidental/incidental impact resulting from foul balls hit directly from the bat to the foot. Two distinct versions would be available for spikes/cleats and tennis shoes, respectively.
